Seeing how you all are so bored... Here's some pics from a photo gig I had this weekend.

A band I work with was in the recording studio for a media event where they recorded a new track and a film team was there to shoot a documentary on them. The local radio station and media were also there for part of the evening.

The studio was gorgeous. Multi-million dollar facility but I had some real challenges with light. It was relatively dark. Most of the shots here were shot at 2000 ISO. That's really pushing the limits where you can get good photos.

Still I got a few decent ones.

Enjoy.

Great pics, whats the name of the band I wanna listen!

Thanks.

I dont mind shooting high ISO during concerts. It's kind of expected. Just have a tough time doing in daytime in moderate lighting.
Didnt turn out too bad though.

They're a blast to hang with.

Who did their makeup?
7.) Alex - 03/19/2014
LOL huh?
If you mean the music video, that was a Movie on an indy label that used their song for the title track.

Great pictures, IMO you captured the mood and feeling of being there...nice!

Nice job! Nice studio....good friend of mine just built a nice studio and starting a recording business. Signed first band two weeks ago. Lots of hard work. Pics look great!

I have done some concert vids and it is a pain.
Lighting is the killer and hopefully there won't be any restrictions on where you can shoot from or set up cameras.
We would use 2 stationary cameras set in different locations and let them run. Then run around the best we could with handheld cameras and put the vid on 2 BIG screens.
The crowd loved seeing themselves on the big screen. Kinda funny and entertaining. Then hit the editing.

Have fun Alex:tu:

Ah no video for me... just stills.
I have full access to these small gigs. Including on stage.

Dark? well yeah.. that's the nature of the beast. ISO 2000 and up sometimes.

Combine this shoot with the half-naked model shoot and the vampire shoot and I think you have a winner.
