I'm in the market for some more CE Bluestreaks or to try some Blu RZ's (might play with those for S&G's and see if they're any kind of a real upgrade) and the shop I rely on most apparently had "a falling out" with Carbon Express and no longer carries them.

They're way out of my way anyway, as is any bow shop I'd let do any work for me, even something as mundane as arrow-building, so I'm on the loose looking on-line for something I don't even need to take somewhere to have cut.

Anybody have any good or bad luck with any purchases of finished arrows (cut, squared, fletched, inserts installed) on the innerweb? Hunter's Friend is about the only place I've looked so far, and they seem like they might be a little on the high side, at least compared to me just buying some pre-fletched shafts and worrying about who cuts them later.

(In this case, I'm willing to buy off-the-shelf fletching, though usually I like to customize with my own colors and styles. Any shops that are good with that stuff would be of interest to me for the future.)

Bought my Blue Streaks on EBay last year. They were crested and fletched

For the amount it will cost you, you will pay for a fletcher and a few tools and then you won't be beholden to a shop. You will get a better product as you will take the time to do it right.

I WONDER IF HE KNOWS ARROWS ARE RE-USABLE? SWAMPY, THEY AINT LIKE BULLETS. GO PICK THEM UP AND SHOOT EM AGAIN AND AGAIN

I've got all that stuff, just not a lot of time. I already have a backlog of old arrows to fletch, lol.

What I don't have is an arrow saw. Otherwise, it would be like Robin Hood's workshop at the North Pole around here...

D'oh!

:groan:

LOL

You should see some of the monkeys building arrows for a fee around here.

I think I've found a good enough deal on Blue Streaks with fletch that I can live with that I'll just have one of the better monkeys cut them for me. I was hoping I could find finished arrows to my taste but it looks like I'm missing it "by that much" on the fletch choices, considering what's being charged.

Do you remember who the seller was? I might like to rummage through his store if he has one.
9.) Hunter - 07/23/2015
I don't remember which on-line store it was. I just did a search for Blue Streak Arrows and he had a dozen that were already crested and fletched. He cut them to length and put in inserts for me also.

Thanks, Bob. I'll look into that. Seems like they have most of the vane/feather choices covered...Am looking into the colors/orientation situation now. Prices for the end result seem right as well .

I just ordered some stand seat cushions from Eders and oddly enough, they are located in Mt Joy Pa which is where Kinseys is located. The box was built up exactly how Kinseys used to build their boxes......are they the same place??
14.) Swamp Fox - 07/28/2015
Eders has been around a while. I think when I first joined their forum in 2000 or 2001 or thereabouts they might not have been selling product or at least didn't have much visibility, but at some point they started pushing sales. Maybe they partnered with Kinsey's for order fulfillment or got rolled into them at some point.

I thought the one or two guys who ran Eders were in Maryland or somewhere, but not Pa.

Could be wrong on most of all that, lol.
15.) Jon - 07/28/2015
Just going by the return address sticker on the package and the packing style. I've opened a package or two from Kinseys in my day!
Their 516 area code is out of Long Island NY which adds another wrench in the works, I mean what could a guy from the Island possibly know about archery? LOL
16.) Swamp Fox - 07/28/2015
Long Island rings a bell now.

Judging from what I pick up at AT when I slum over there, there are a few bowhunters on Long Island. Poor bastards probably have to drive out of state to find a place to practice. I wonder how much a license to own a bow costs? Maximum quiver capacity 6 arrows? :wink:re::wink

LOL
17.) Jon - 07/28/2015
There are a TON of deer on the Island, they do some killing. I have family out there but they are tree huggers and wouldn't dare hunt.

Ditto...

I bit the bullet a few years back and do my own now. I enjoy fletching / setting up my own arrows and I get what I WANT, not what someone else that can't listen thinks I want!
