I think either the editor or the writer is asleep at the keyboard, though. The explanation of the homemade lure, identified as a spinnerbait by the fisherman but as a spreader bar by the IGFA, is about as screwed up as you can get.

Maybe the White House press office has an opening, because someone involved in this fish story has the appropriate skill set for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I was thinking the same thing, and it is going to take some fancy footwork to make a spinner bait appear to be the same thing as a spreader bar.

I think they may have edited the article "a little" since I first read it. It made absolutely [B]no[/B] sense on the first reading. Now they have reduced the problems down to writing that a spinnerbait is typically larger than a spreader bar...:re:....

I always thought when they edited a story they noted the edit and the time, but maybe not.

In any event, the writing isn't as bad as it was in the beginning. I guess that's what passes for progress these days. :tap:
