what would you consider the cams on the element ??..medium, hard cams?

at 65 67 lbs and a 27" arrow ..100grain point the fmj's 400 arn't to weak of spine for the setup?
2.) crookedeye - 10/12/2013
thanks guys i new i could count on you..
3.) billy b - 10/12/2013

4.) crookedeye - 10/12/2013
looks like i'll never no...
5.) Dan-o - 10/12/2013
If call them hard, and your spine should be good, considering your draw and arrow length. Everything flying ok?

i had those big heavy 340's when we went hunting..seems like my broadheds flew to the left of my field points,,

i just what somthing in the middle range when "we" go hunting next year..
7.) crookedeye - 10/12/2013

We can do antelope. Got an opening in August. I'll give you a call this week to discuss.
12.) Dan-o - 10/13/2013
You will have to hunt with Kenny though!
13.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013

Kenny!!!! no way!!!!
15.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
will kenny be stable??
16.) Triton Rich - 10/13/2013
Probably hard cams. I'll punch the numbers into the on target software when I get a chance and letcha know about the spine. My guess is 400s are on the weak side but may be adequate.
17.) Dan-o - 10/13/2013
will kenny be stable??
Nope. He's a loose cannon. Always neck shooting shit and trying to bogart the good hunting spots. You'll be ok though.
18.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013

Sounds good. Looking forward to seeing you too. Good times will be had! I'm not sure where I'm going elk hunting next year, but I am going! Thinking about bear in June too. But I'm not sure I can do all 3.
22.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
i would like to go elk hunting to..
23.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
kennys not going to bring his golf cart is he?
24.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
seems like when i shoot broadheads with the 340's they shoot left of my field points..but on the bone collectors i have the 400's i think, and everything flys like a bullet and hit in the same spots.i dont no if its the fletching ? the 340's are offset and the bone collectors are hilica are whatever and fly like a dart..i'm just looking for somthing a little heavier for elk ..the 400's should put me around 400 grains.
25.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
TR what did you punch it up in the chart yet?? i just read horror story's about shooting weak spined srrows..i just dont what any shaft going threw my hand..
26.) Dan-o - 10/13/2013
TR what did you punch it up in the chart yet?? i just read horror story's about shooting weak spined srrows..i just dont what any shaft going threw my hand..
I think you're good. The static spine of the arrow is 400. Once you chop them down to 27" they stiffen up immediately. By only shooting 100 grains up front, and with your short draw in the 65 pound range, and with a 7" brace bow, I think you should be fine. And while the element is kind of a harsh cam, it's not like a speed bow. I shoot 340s, but I weaken them by leaving them long, adding weight to the front of the arrow, and my draw is longer.
27.) Triton Rich - 10/13/2013
As I suspected, you're a little weak. I didn't know your draw length so I left it at 28.5". If your DL was 27, you'd be really close to the good range. Here's a screenshot of the graph. I did the 2011 and the 2012 RKT and it was about the same. Let me know your draw length and I'll get a better idea.

no problem.. thank you.
31.) Triton Rich - 10/13/2013
What year Element is it? I believe the RKT cams on the 2012 are a bit hotter. In any case, it's a little marginal but I don't think dangerously so. It seems to me that the graph on the on target software is a little exaggerated so I don't think you are off as far as it may look. To be safe, I wouldn't set it higher than 65#.
32.) crookedeye - 10/13/2013
2012..

cameron haynes shoots 400's out of a 80 lb bow.. plus i'm no cameron haynes ..i'm just crookedeye.. i'm not to worried about it..the bone collectors i have seem to be the ticket i might just stick with them..

Well I'm absolutely certain THAT'S not safe! Of course, when you get dozens of new arrows for free all the time you don't need to worry as much.
