It looks like they're at least keeping him well hydrated via IV drip though...

Good luck to the old commie.

I hold my nose as I pass this information along, but some of you ladies might be interested in Kalashnikov Military Strength vodka, though I can't imagine why.

Here's a write-up on the bottle:

Clear blown glass with a see-through portrait of Mikhail Kalashnikov (in younger years) and as its name might suggest, the bottle is in the shape of a M44 7.62x79 Cartridge at least in terms of the bottom of the bottle which has a rimless extraction shape on the bottom of the bottle (like the bottom of a bullet cartridge to the non gun aficionados out there). Not to be confused with Red Army Vodka which is even closer in shape but different color and construction. Certainly stands out from all the other vodka bottles out there! What the hell, Buy a Kalashnikov for World Peace.

A taste review is also here, but it's all potato juice to me:

Not in this case.

I applaud not only the extractor groove at the bottom of the bottle, but also what appears to be a degree of taper to the bottle wall, running from bottom to top. The stickler for detail in me approves.

Sure. I'm sad to see you've fallen for it. That's what the Russians want you to think.
5.) bluecat - 11/18/2013
So do you purchase a magazine, a clip or a case of vodka?

Hey, you won't be seeing me in any re-education camp.
So do you purchase a magazine, a clip or a case of vodka?
If you're not buying both your ammo and your booze by the case, you're doing both wrong.
7.) bluecat - 11/18/2013
So is this where the term "loaded" comes from?
8.) Swamp Fox - 11/18/2013
So do you purchase a magazine, a clip or a case of vodka?
Yes.

But only if you're female or trying to hide your drinking from your parents.

You can also probably get vodka in drums...Big, honkin' drums like for hydraulic fluid or used motor oil...

But obviously I haven't looked to verify that.

:wink

I'm going down fighting....Well, maybe kicking and screaming...I promise I'll write...:wink

I'd buy this girl a drink:

If there's caviar on the table, that drink should be ice cold vodka, straight up...
Of course, millions of Russians can't be entirely wrong about their national tipple. Vodka is excellent sipped straight, frozen and neat, on those rare, happy occasions when I eat caviar. I enjoy vodka's pure, alcoholic wallop, the way condensation freezes to the glass and the way it produces numbness, then warmth in the mouth and throat. Though it is less exciting than most other drinks, it has its place on the bartender's arsenal and also on my table.
Read some of the comments, by people who know the difference between crappy and good vodka. Vodka has plenty of flavor, if you spring for something better than Stoli (the comment regarding rum and Bacardi is spot on).

What's really ironic though is her disdain of people who drink vodka mixed with various things, before ending with a plug for vodka mixed with ginger beer and lime.

And finally...I'm going to have to issue a Man Card warning for citing a Huffington Post article as an authoritative source for....well...anything. :wink

Authoritative, schaumoratative...HuffPo was the only place besides Pravda and women's magazines that I could find an article that cited a benefit of vodka other than its undetectability and femininity. :wink Maybe some fey beta male has written favorably about it in The New Yorker or some place but like that, but no one ever bookmarks The New Yorker. :omg:

As far as I can tell, the difference between crappy vodka and "good" vodka seems to be degree of flammability, and whether you're burning grains or spuds...

Unlike HuffPo, the above site contains information for men (look, it says so right in the URL), including gratuitous photos objectifying hot wimmenz...

So there. Oh, and while we're on the subject, in my brief search I happened across the following entertaining and eminently topical site dedicated to today's serious lush:

LOL...

It also says "beta" right there at the top of the page...And how deep into the article do you want me to read if its main cheerleader for vodka is a Frenchman?

I fervently await your reply, which will make no difference to me...:wink

Nice try...but "beta" something different in the tech world (you know, like the intertubez). :re:

But, OK...yeah. It's not what I thought (despite their nod to R. Lee Ermey's book).
