I know the carbon express F15 broadheads have been out for some time now, and this has probably been asked but how do they fly? My son (11) told me he wants to shoot them this fall. He shoots 40 lbs with a Diamond infinite edge.

THEY FLY GREAT, BUT FROM MY EXPERIENCE ON A DEER, THEY HOLD FLESH, MUSCLE AND TISSUE IN AND AROUND THE BLEEDER BLADES AND DO NOT PRODUCE A VERY GOOD WOUND CHANNEL OR BLOOD TRAIL. I FOUND THE ANIMAL 130 YARDS AWAY, BUT WASN'T AS EASY AS I HAD HOPED FOR.

Good to know. Probably just get some slicks for him then. Tryed and true.
4.) ARCHERXP - 01/22/2014
Slicks and Rage are my votes.
5.) Triton Rich - 01/22/2014
Slicks are awesome. I would use the Razortrick with your Son's set up to maximize penetration. I've been using the Trufire T1 the last couple of years with fantastic results, you could check that one out too. I would also suggest that you avoid mechanicals with a 40lb bow but if you must, use a small one like the Rage 40KE.
6.) NEBigAl - 01/22/2014
Slicks! I might try out the QAD exodus as well
7.) TreeTopAssassin - 01/22/2014
I agree with no expandable with a 40# bow. I will just get him slicktricks. Thanks for the response.

AGREE WITH TRICH ON THE RAZORTRICK FOR THE BOY ESPECIALLY. LOWER POUNDAGE, LOWER K/E, I WOULD GO WITH THE CUT ON CONTACT TRICK FOR PENETRATION.

I WOULD USE THEM FOR MYSELF TOO IF I DIDNT HAVE SO MANY MAGNUMS ALREADY IN THE QUIVER. BUT THE WIFE USES ONLY RAZORS FOR YOUR BOYS SAME REASONS.
