Nice bow, what is the axle to axle measurement? Looks like a nice soft case too.
7.) Deerminator - 04/23/2014
AhAAAAAAA!
Nice bow. What was it about that bow that made you decide to get it?
8.) Leighton - 04/23/2014

i was thinking very carefully between the elite 35 and this one. after i got some pretty crappy customer service where i was gonna buy the elite, it kinda sealed the deal for me.

it was a toss up between the two, and the biggest reason i wanted the elite was mainly because it was cheaper. they both felt about the same at the draw and shot, slightly smoother/quieter with the elite but i didn't feel it was as simple to tune as the yoke of the hoyt. that and the hoyt had a bit more speed and was lighter.

overall, i probably would've been happy with either bow, and i'm glad i'm not disappointed (not yet and hopefully not ever) with the one i bought.

good thing is i don't buy a bow every year...lol once a decade is plenty.

That is a fine looking machine right there! My bro is on the market and I'm steering him towards the Spider or Faktor. I'm not due for a new one yet so I have to bow shop vicariously through him! :wink

I shot the faktor yesterday, I liked it!
16.) Triton Rich - 04/25/2014
The specs on those two bows are ridiculously similar, would you say there's much difference shooting the two of them?

It's hard for me to explain but I think the shot with the CST is a tad better than the Faktor (i guess i would have to say this since i bought the CST lol)

Looking at the two bows, i think there's a slight different around the limb pocket area. My buddy who owns a Faktor was looking at our bows with me and noticed it too.

I'm not entirely sure if the carbon riser is actually stiffer and makes a difference at the shot regarding torque, but so far no regrets.
18.) Triton Rich - 04/28/2014
Thanks for the mini review. Enjoy the new bow!
19.) ARCHERXP - 05/30/2014
so an update

so far i really enjoy shooting this bow. it's light compared to my commander. i thought the brace height would make more of a difference in my accuracy, but since my draw length is relatively short (27ish...a tad over), it hasn't really affected it that much. there's a bit more noise than my commander, but then again, it doesn't have as much mass to absorb the speed it's able to produce. it's by no means loud though.

the draw is really nice for a "speed" bow.

hmmm...let's see...oh, the only other thing i'm still getting used to is the grip. i'm not a big fan of thicker grips. i'm used to my commander.

i'll post a picture of it's final look shortly.
20.) ARCHERXP - 05/30/2014

23.) Swamp Fox - 05/30/2014
I had to put a couple of pics on Photobucket before they would upload here recently. They wouldn't load direct from my computer, though others in the same batch would. Maybe too pixilicious.
24.) ARCHERXP - 05/31/2014
Guess so...:(
25.) Deerminator - 05/31/2014
DANG!!
26.) crookedeye - 05/31/2014
ok theres a American, german and a Pollack about ready to get executed by rifle squad..
the American stands there and just before the guns go off he yells "tornado!" the executioners dive for cover while the American escapes to safty.

the german is in the same boat ..just as the executioner squad says ready ..he yells "earthquake'! the executioners hit the ground and the german runs for safty...

now the Pollack time is up and he stands there..tense.. waiting for the signal as soon as the executioner are at the ready .... he yells "FIRE"!!

49.) ARCHERXP - 06/26/2014
final verdict:

very accurate arrow (left and right weren't affected)

only affected was the rate of drop (expected)

chronograph speed went from 256fps(original 450gn arrow) to 218fps(test arrow at 645gn)
kinetic energy went up 2 points but momentum went up 12 points.

I'm a big fan of those Spot Hoggs.

Rino hunting?
54.) ARCHERXP - 07/07/2014
i tell you what though, these things pack a wallop.

i still haven't convinced myself that the extra quiet shot and increase in momentum is worth it
