1.) DParker - 07/18/2014
The friend of a guy I work with rescued a yearling from some dogs last year and took it home (he notified the local warden, who indicated no interest in coming to get the deer...so it's still living in this guy's back yard.) Now it's a 2 year-old with what I regard as a very impressive rack on such a tiny deer (it looks to be about the size of my German Shepherd). This is a photo of it taken a couple of days ago...

The angle and resolution of the shot make it nigh impossible to verify, but the guy I work with swears that it's sporting 13 points. Is it me, or is that pretty unusual for a buck that age/size? If so, I hope it's able to get out and breed at some point.
2.) Swamp Fox - 07/18/2014
I'd say it's unusual for most areas but far from impossible under excellent conditions, and he must be eating very well, regardless..
3.) Hunter - 07/18/2014
Good genetics make it very possible
4.) Ventilator - 07/18/2014
in a captive environment with zero stress, id say its very likely for bucks to grow like this. In no way replicates the wild, as I know you now already. :tu:

Hope your friend doesn't get a call from Jimmy Houston.

He is impressive for a 2 year old. He might not be so friendly in a couple months though!
