1.) Deerminator - 12/15/2014
Around here is $2.81-9. and a few in the upper$ 2. 70's.

I might get another hot rod or monster type truck:grin:

What's the gas price like in your neck of the woods. ( lurkers are encouraged to add their 2 cents.) IT WONT KILL YA.
2.) Alex - 12/15/2014
2:85 ...
but dont get used to it.
The ONLY reason oil prices are low is OPEC has not altered their production quotas to reduce the influx of oil into the system. Its a power play to starve out US/Canadian oil production. At $60 a barrel most alternative fuel production becomes unprofitable and things fold up.

But OPEC is losing billions in the power play. Theyre flooding the market with oil at 1/2 profit. They can keep it up for a while, but they cant survive it much longer either.

Of course, when the oil prices start to rise, and gas prices follow, it will be blamed on US politics by one party or another. Because everyone knows the US controls the price of oil globally...
(and yes that last part was extreme sarcasm).
3.) billy b - 12/15/2014
$2.29 for regular unleaded in Fairfield Tx.
4.) bluecat - 12/15/2014
Same here, around 2.29 ish.
5.) Deerminator - 12/15/2014
Interesting the HUGE difference from state to state. Naturaly here in NY it's mostly tax
6.) Swamp Fox - 12/16/2014
Check out a gasoline tax chart or map sometime.

NC gas taxes are among the highest in the nation. If various links would work, I could show you all the awesome excuses. The taxes are way up there, is what I'm saying.

SC gas is about 20 cents a gallon cheaper, and the Broncos take full advantage.
7.) Wild Bob - 12/22/2014
$2.90 in the heart of XL pipeline country...:re:
8.) Swamp Fox - 12/22/2014
$2.16 at the cheapest pumps in the swamp...

I can't swear it was that cheap a week ago, but it was close.
9.) bluecat - 12/22/2014
Under 2.00 now.
10.) Forkie McRut - 12/23/2014
$2.39 in Maryland is cheapest I've seen

$2.49-$2.55 in Pennsyltuckey

Holy Crap!!!
downto 2. 60 now.:hb:
12.) Wester - 12/30/2014
About 2.20 here, but I found a station in a nearby city that was 1.99. So, I found it a good time to buy a truck! :)
13.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2014
Chicks dig a Bronco...

Just sayin'...

:wink
14.) bluecat - 12/30/2014
1.89
15.) Deerminator - 12/30/2014
WOW!!
16.) luv2bowhunt - 12/30/2014
Tax on gas is a very, very good thing. Luv it. :-)

My how things have changed. I find the positive, while Mr. Rainy NY Farm Photographer finds only the gloom.

Sad, sad state we find ourselves in these days.
17.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2014
I came across an excellent article fairly recently on how the geniuses in Central Planning usually botch highway funding and usage schemes (tolls, HOV lanes, etc.) that also included some good information about gas taxes. If anyone's interested, I could try to dig it up. Kind of an eye-opener. And the powers that be have been talking about raising gas taxes for a while now. The topic will hit your dinner table discussions soon.

Here is a state gas tax map, which doesn't include the 18 cents per gallon everyone pays on top of these rates to the feds.

Personally, I think the reality of the "gas tax for highway funding" is a mess, and we don't get a good bang for the buck.

Ha, almost laugh you make me.

Sure it's not used as well as it could be. Are any gov't funds????

But, it helps put food on my table and a new bow in my deer head room.:wink
19.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2014
:-)

I'm presently composing a strongly worded letter to those who don't like non-hunting-related topics, but then don't make any hunting-related posts... :wink

I hear you...and yet, here we are with still have no Highway Bill in place. It will be interesting to see how that plays out over the next 6-8 months, IMO.

Despite the craziness of it all, I was contacted recently by a couple of companies from my previous life... Believe it or not; there are two opportunities in my old market area. However, both of the companies that offered positions are chasing very non-typical work for them as they are having to continually evolve.

HMMMM, me and the wife had to think hard about it...move back into an extremely volatile market, with a boat load of unknowns, (of course way better $) or stay put, be relatively secure, but have to deal with local politicians. Ain't it a pisser?!?!

If it weren't for trying to be secure and raise my kids in one place, (and to a much lesser degree of importnace... all additional outdoor opportunities here :-))...I'd be awful tempted to take that chance.
22.) luv2bowhunt - 12/30/2014
You know you miss construction. Once you spend a Summer on a jobsite, hearing the equipment and back-up alarms, smelling the exhaust, dust on your dashboard, trading jabs with the guys, it get's in your blood.

On second thought, you're not man enough to get back into it. Probably better for you to squabble with the pencil pushers.:re::tu:
23.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2014
HA!  You so funny!!! :-)

You're right...I'm not up to par here lately...about to go under the knife in two days. :groan:

I leave tomorrow; nice five hour journey just to get to the hospital and my surgeon. So you probably won't hear much out of me for at least a 4-5 days until I get back home to recover. I can just imaginge those meds with a nice cold IPA!!! :duh:

But you're right I do miss it. You know what else I really miss about it - being able to make a decision and having it carried out IMEDIATELY!
24.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2014
So uh...can I count on you guys to entertain and hang out with me while I recover???

Just keep in mind that if I post something that is not me...its the meds talking! :wink

Swampy is always here during the days. Not sure who has the nights anymore. billy is out until Sunday. Actually it's not looking real good for you..........
26.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2014
LOL...

Yeah, I think I'll be around although the weather is supposed to clear tomorrow and New Year's Day. But then it gets rainy again. So I'm probably close to the computer for the duration. The point is to be productive when I'm not in the woods, but you can see how that's going....LOL

Good luck on your surgery. I'm not sure we'll be able to tell the difference between Wild Bob On Meds vs. Wild Bob Off His Meds, though...

:wink

Who started the Buck Movements thread you twits? At least when I do speak it's interesting, not like that stupid political crap, that only infuriates without offering real world solutions.:co::td::wave::bang::tu:

We got your back. Good luck.
30.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2014
I beg of you SPEAK! (I need to hear some interesting commentary...)

I need to hear some solutions to burning questions such as:

-Will it snow this evening?

-Will that buck I've been keeping my eye on every evening on my way home, loose his left anter soon?

-Will anyone ever replace Woodie Gutherie?

-Will the antelope in my area make it back over the lake before ice out this year...or will the south side of the lake be littered with tens of dozens of their dead bodies again?

Please don't twit me...

LOL...My comment wasn't aimed at you...Honest...But I see now that it was unintentionally perfect...Maybe it was Freudian...LOL

(Perfect, except that you DO post hunting-related stuff.)

You might not like the off-topic stuff, but you make up for that character flaw in other ways...I think we'll keep you.

:wink
32.) luv2bowhunt - 12/30/2014
Reminds me of my knee surgery a year ago. Pain meds, those were some real good times. I swear the first 2 days after surgery lasted about 6 weeks.
33.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2014
Thanks bluecat! If you got an extra bottle of that Mango wine...I would mind trying some that with a couple hydros. :-) (Only kidding, sort of, I think, ask me in about a week.)
34.) luv2bowhunt - 12/30/2014
Shut up Chris, this is about Bob and me. Well, mostly me.............

I love you guys...and I don't even have those meds yet!

Oh no, you won't mind, in fact you want the days to keep going. You just have a blank stare and smile at everyone who comes to see you. Their faces and voices make you think you're in Alice in Wonderland.

The door knob did start talking to me once...........
38.) Deerminator - 12/30/2014
Good meds are hard to find.

I also didn't think of you Luv2. I was thinking about some other folks who come in, complain about the non-topic stuff and then you never hear from them again. I have appreciated your posts especially the mock scrape post.

Either way, the comment Swampy made was right on the money.
