If you aint lyin then that's impressive.
I'm still 190's average. But i bowl sporadically. No league.

Still getting used to the new Motive i bought. Love that thing but damn she likes to hook. :hb:
10.) Ohbuckhunter - 01/13/2015
Switched to Brunswick last year and scores have gone way up. Haven't shot anything less than 688 this year. With a high set of 837. Last year fresh drill on my mastermind went back to back 300s than choked last game with 258. Before I got into shooting 3d and kids i lived in a bowling ale. Bowling 5-6 nights a week and worked with a few different ball company's. I gave bowling up for 3 years than came back last year to get out the house a few times a week. I seen on fb you been bowling its like golf. Patients and right couch/ people around u can change the game for anyone.
11.) crookedeye - 01/13/2015
I picked me up a goodyear Earl Anthony 2000 for my spare ball...
12.) Alex - 01/13/2015
Yeah... I had been using a 30yr old hammer. No tech. Just a round rock. Was busting ass to get any hook. 3 games felt like I had been pounding fence posts all day.

So I figured it was time for some tech. After researching like crazy I was looking at the Motive Sigma Tour ball... but as luck would have it, one night in November while taking the girls cosmic bowling, the guy next to us rolls up with 1/2 dozen motives in his bag. Turns out his grip was nearly the same as mine.

After throwing the frenzy, venom and the sting, I bought a Sting the next day (pin up).
http://www.ballreviews.com/motiv/sigma-sting-t298832.0.html

Whole world of difference from 30yd old no tech. Can bowl 6-7 games now with zero fatigue. Has taken me a few weeks (bowling once a week or so) to get used to this ball and finding my a new grip, new position, and adjusting for lanes. Its my spare ball as well, so I have been challenged with backing the flare off for 10pin pickups.. god I hate that freaking 10p lol...

but it's working out pretty good. Average is up a solid 40 pins in about 15 evenings.
I may see about getting a second spare ball. I am pretty consistent with the right side pickup now, but it would be nice not to have to muscle out the hook on those. Bit rough on the neck if I have too many of those back to back.
Dave, have you ever heard of Rick Benoit or his brother Bob?
Rick i beleave i know him from Vegas. But i could be mistaking.

Hows life in the big state.
15.) billy b - 01/14/2015
It's been cold for a few weeks now, but I did get a deer a couple of weeks ago. Rick is the president of Bowl U, he goes all over the world teaching, his brother Bob back about 20 or 25 years ago bowled a perfect game in the finals of the Quaker State open in Dallas, that was when balls were made of rubber, I used to play baseball with both of them for a few years & Rick worked for me at the Chev. dealership. Both were good friends & great athletes.
16.) Ohbuckhunter - 01/14/2015
Congrats brother on the deer. You Roy and Jerry need to come up to ohio n let me show you what small deer look like. ;).

Rick i be leave bowl the open champion ship against me in the second round. I could be totally thinking of a different person though. I'm sure I've seen bob on live steam when I get w chance to watch it. A local guy I bowl with just won the Bradley in KY. $10,000 pay day.

21.) toxophilite - 01/15/2015

22.) crookedeye - 01/17/2015

23.) Wester - 01/20/2015
My Dad is a pretty big bowler. He bowls a few leagues. He only uses storm bowling balls though. As for me, i'm lucky to even hit a pin within a few games.

39.) Swamp Fox - 02/09/2015
LOL...

"This isn't 'Nam, it's bowling..."

:pop:
40.) Alex - 02/09/2015
300 games arent what they used to be.. and a pro bowler that is bowling thousands of games a year could and would likely pull 58 or more out...

Dont be a hater.
High-tech balls and synthetic lanes have replaced the plastic and wood of Allison’s era. Higher scores and dwindling memberships are dividing purists and recreational bowlers over the sport’s priorities. Even the once-sacred 900 series and the 300 game have become so common that bowling parties have upstaged late-night leagues.

In the last 10 years, 12 sanctioned 900 series have been bowled, including two by Robert Mushtare, an 18-year-old from Carthage, N.Y., who also rolled a third that was disallowed by the United States Bowling Congress. But the most startling statistic is the number of 300 games: 51,162 in 2004-5 and 56,212 in 2005-6. In 1981-82, the total (which did not include the few 300 games by women and children) was 5,949.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/01/sports/othersports/01bowling.html?fta=y

and these stats are almost 10 yrs old.
I have personally seen 2 by the same guy that runs my lanes here in the past 3 months. Still an elusive target for me though.
