My dog ate my alarm clock. What's up!
4.) Swamp Fox - 02/23/2015
LOL...I had a housemate once who told me he didn't like the sound of peepers at night. Kept him awake or gave him the heebie jeebies or something.

He was a weirdo anyway, though.

LOL

Swampy, I went to Spamalot on Friday night. Absolute blast. If you ever get a chance to go, do it. It's a hoot. I purposely have been avoiding it because I didn't want to be disappointed just like there are certain songs you never want a cover band to play. It is a riot and I was laughing all through it.
6.) Swamp Fox - 02/23/2015
Good to know...I can relate to not wanting it to turn out to be a lame retread. I know it got good reviews and all, but how many theater critics are Monty Python connoisseurs, really? :wink
7.) Deerminator - 02/23/2015
Sam a lot is that a nerd computer thing or is it like scraple?
8.) Deerminator - 02/23/2015
Any one small game hunting? Way too much snow around here.
9.) Swamp Fox - 02/23/2015

I might do some this week if I can get a decent day. We were iced in most of all last week. Most of this month sucked weather-wise, or at least I couldn't put very many decent days in a row to be able to plan anything. We had a pretty nice January.

Squirrel closes at the end of this month, though, and I move on to fishing and getting ready for April turkeys.

Crap! We got snow overnight. Probably too much to melt tomorrow. Which means ice out to the main road til at least Thursday. :bang:

Oh, well. Friday and Saturday look nice for some sneaking around after skwirls, if there are any out, LOL. Late season is pretty tough.

Rain all next week. Lovely.

I knew I should have taken more woods-time last month, LOL.
11.) bluecat - 02/24/2015
We are enjoing 40 degrees today and tomorrow is back to being crappy.

Getting my recurve limbs today. I'll post up a thread soon.
12.) Swamp Fox - 02/24/2015
Make sure you find a way to include pictures of half-naked women. :wink

On second thought, maybe even that won't shake things up around here, LOL.
13.) bluecat - 02/24/2015
I might post some information I found on tiller and brace height. It might interest one or two people. :wink
14.) Wild Bob - 02/24/2015
BC - what are you looking for an outboard? ... Oh, sorry...I amost forgot that the roots of HC is BC!
15.) Wild Bob - 02/24/2015
So, I'll throw something out there to get conversation going...

Me and the boys are thinking about going after some weasels.
16.) bluecat - 02/24/2015
Start in Washington. There's a target rich environment.
17.) Wild Bob - 02/24/2015
If this gets any more exciting...I might as well go beat off, or take up origami, or macrame... :groan:

I'm actually talking about the little furry guys running around out in the woods.
19.) Swamp Fox - 02/24/2015
Too bad Nocky's not still around. He had a weasel problem a few years ago, if I remember correctly.

The remedy involved some creative and borderline scandalous ammunition manufacture.

Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid are loose in the woods?

I don't think either of those two could fit in this:

Ah, the old fake chicken coop ruse. I've seen that on Looney Tunes.

I bet if you put a TV news camera and an Immunity From Lie Detection coupon in the box, there would be a scramble to see who could stick his head in there first. :wink
23.) Swamp Fox - 02/24/2015
Speaking of Looney Tunes....

Ever seen a too-fat cat try to squeeze through the posts of a porch rail in a panic in the snow? LOL. I spooked Mr. Maestro (think Sylvester of Tweety Bird fame) out of his house on the porch while shaking snow off blankets just now....Snow flying everywhere from his back wheels, and him not going anywhere, just like in the cartoons ..

Finally, he sucked his big ol belly in and got through. I don't know how he got so fat on just his daily ration of Friskies from me. I've long suspected he must be mooching off a neighbor, though he always seems to be right here. And he doesn't seem to be making much of a dent in the squirrel or bird population. He's hell on grasshoppers and butterflies in season, though, LOL.

Slow metabolism, maybe. :-)
24.) bluecat - 02/24/2015
Don't your cats know by now that you mean them no harm or is it that once a wild cat always a wild cat?
25.) Deerminator - 02/24/2015
:-)I guess I could start shooting the squirrels off the fence if the neighbors are OK with it. might get into the low 3o's this week end or early next week. Might be an opportunity in there somewhere. I got cabin fever really bad.
26.) Deerminator - 02/24/2015
Like the weasel trap Bob:tu:
27.) Swamp Fox - 02/24/2015
Once a wild cat, always a wild cat, pretty much, but this varies a little. Mr. Maestro will let me pet him at feeding time usually, but other times he'll skirt me. If I tried to pick him up, there'd definitely be a fight, LOL. It took four years for one cat to let me pet her, while her sister has always been an attention mooch (on her own schedule). The latter barely tolerates being picked up, though, and I'm not anywhere close to being able to pick up the former. On the other hand, their brother was all over me when he was around, and always wanted to sleep in my lap. (He's since been run off, or got tired of me, LOL) Their nephew, whom you know (Mr. Pounce) became socialized rather easily, while his littermates are as spooky and stand-offish as they come without being full-blown feral.

The ones I couldn't do anything with as far as socializing when they were kittens will either always be spooky or they'll be on the long-term plan as well. It's actually very interesting to watch them all interacting with each other, and noting how they relate to me over time.

It's on par with when I had wild pet mice. :wink
28.) wallop85 - 02/25/2015
heck there aren't enough people to keep it going. it's sad. if only it went back to how it used to be. heck bullzi doesn't even flood the board with posts. what happened there?
29.) Swamp Fox - 02/25/2015
His computer ran out of capital letters...You're supposed to use those sparingly...LOL...Who knew?

I miss that lil feller...
30.) crookedeye - 02/25/2015
lol remember bullzi used to get so mad when you would ask why he uses caps lock?? he would say he's used to it, because he does it at work..

you could tell he was really mad when he type it in caps..and used a exclamation point on the end..you new not to fool around no more when that happen...
31.) bluecat - 02/25/2015
I think when his post count of 30,000 suddenly plummeted after the crash is when he realized he just didn't have it in him to get back to the summit.
32.) Swamp Fox - 02/25/2015
Just got back from the grocery store...It was like someone announced free unlimited .22 LR ammunition for everyone. We're supposed to get significant snow starting in a couple of hours and then freezing rain tomorrow...:bang: I'm looking into whether human sacrifice might help clear the weather in time to salvage the last two days of squirrel season, because I've had my fill of riding the desk.

We got almost complete melting of yesterday's snow today, which was a surprise, and a stroke of luck considering what might be coming.

I think I'll put Scoutlook's forecast up against Intellicast and one other. I've pretty much given up on Scoutlook for hunting and fishing. Big-time inaccuracy rate. But just for S&G's, let's see what happens. I mean, what else is going on around here?
33.) Deerminator - 02/26/2015
Ain't the same with out
34.) Deerminator - 02/26/2015
