Hiding...they heard both you guys have shotguns. :-) (I think Luv2 told them...)

I hope the harsh winter left a few of them for all you people up there in Canadia this spring.

I hunted the NW Virginia mountains hard for two or three springs a while back and couldn't buy a gobble in good territory (for the mountains; almost pure big woods lacking agriculture or many openings/brood strips). I finally ran into a local guy that told me how bad he thought the recent winter(s) had hammered the birds, and suddenly the light bulb went on and I skedaddled. Haven't been back since, LOL.

Hard to tell around here . Normally there are a lot of birds. It's the availability of hunting grounds that's the difficult thing..

Extremely dense populations and fertile habitat.

LOL...

I don't have any contacts in that area anymore, Bob, I don't think. My guess is they're all in nursing homes or jail at this point.

I was up where I was for the public land. One of the most beautiful parts of the country, if you ask me, but typical hunting for gov't areas where you can get away from people. I had an easier time finding bears than turkeys. Saw more, too, LOL.
