One little trick I came up with while replacing treestand cables before they rust through and kill me:

When using chain as the replacement material, leave two or three extra links available on at least one end (you can pad them or rubber dip for quiet if you want).

The extra links allow you (with tools) to get that stand in a leaning tree---even a severely leaning tree---as long as you have the time to make the adjustment. Assuming you hang some of your sets long before you hunt them, this puts some adjustable treestands in your arsenal as you do routine maintenance to your stand collection over time.

I wonder what Luv2 thinks of this stand...Misses his 12 # weight goal by a pound, but otherwise I think it checks off all his other boxes...

there made by communist.. there made by the old owner of lonewolf... andre the scorpion adiquesto..i'm sure there a good stand..heck its gotta be better than my 120 dollar gorilla stand I had up for 10 years..
8.) Swamp Fox - 04/15/2015
LOL...

I have a bunch of $50 Remington stands and $90 Gorillas. I like them fine, not that you get deluxe cushions or low weight... blah, blah, blah.

If the platform's big enough and a few other things line up (decent seat, minimum 21-inch seat height) I'll pay a good bit extra for a stand to carry in and out, especially if the weight gets down in this 13 # neighborhood. But at least for now, I'm not in the carrying in and out business, except in special cases.

This platform's too small for me to run out and yell "Shut up and take my money!" for bowhunting, but I appreciate the effort. :wink

my silverback I had up in the tree for at least 10 years now was dead silent.. I have lonewolfs that I don't like to leave up in the tree for extended periods of time...the lone wolfs are a little smaller but you cannot get a better stand .
10.) crookedeye - 04/15/2015
there to expensive to leave up there..i bought the muddy seat for my alpha fix stand ..
11.) crookedeye - 04/15/2015

I started using my lonewolf sit and climb from 2003...I've been through so many seats, and I finally went back to the lonewolf little camo sling seat..
15.) crookedeye - 04/15/2015

"I would have..."

I loved them. Can't find them on youtube.
18.) crookedeye - 04/15/2015

20.) Swamp Fox - 04/15/2015
I would like to find replacement seats or someone who will make them for Loggy Bayous. I need one or two sling seats and one of the big comfy cushion type.

I bet he did, at least once, but he won't say so. He won't even respond to my real BBQ vs. barbequed beef comment....:wink

I bought the summit seat for my lonewolf seat and climb...its to cumbersome to screw around with..it works great for it when you have a tree picked out...

The Muddy seat is an excellent replacement. I like the fat Gorilla seats but the Muddys are much better, plus you can still get them, LOL.

It works fine on a little ground seat set-up I came up with. I think it didn't work for the first thing I wanted it for (I don't remember why or even what it was, except I know it was a treestand) but I came up with something different and put it to use. :tu:

There's an Alamo or Texas Independence series on cable this spring....Looks like it could be good. Not sure it will get you a PhD in history, though...LOL...Lots of explosions and saber charges, though...

Speaking of prickly pears, Shiner is now offering a sixpack of Prickly Pear...I am no longer forced into half-year seasonal abstinences and nit-picking through variety packs (if I play my cards right and don't drink them all in season)...
