If you know any Hillary supporters who are not low-information, I suggest gin during the summer and then bourbon as it gets closer to the election.

I'm thinking Hemlock.
6.) Swamp Fox - 07/06/2016
I'm thinking there's a small possibility that Loretta Lynch might not be a bare-assed flack and can recognize that when Comey says "extremely careless" it means "gross negligence" and that he set her up for a "Brutus is an honorable man" moment.

http://shakespeare.mit.edu/julius_caesar/julius_caesar.3.2.html

In other news, hemlock would be too bitter for me, but I highly recommend it for some others I can think of.

Not for Comey, though. Poor guy. For appearance sake, he has to wait for Lynch to make a statement before he can know if he must perform seppuku.

The wait must be hell.

Fortunately, Obama has learned his lesson, and like Hillary, has said he wouldn't be careless in the future.

Good thing he's invented a time machine, or we'd really have a mess on our hands.

Obama: 'Zero tolerance' for leaking classified information

DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

Monday, November 29, 2010, 12:55 PM

WASHINGTON - President Obama has ordered a government-wide crackdown on access to classified information to limit the future airing of secrets by [name redacted to protect the indefensible].

At Obama's direction, the White House Office of Management and Budget sent out a memo to all agencies to make sure their workers can only see what they have to see to do their jobs.

OMB Director Jacob Lew said there will be a zero-tolerance policy under the new directive.

"Any unauthorized disclosure of classified information is a violation of our law and compromises our national security," according to reports.

Obama: 'Zero tolerance' for leaking classified information

June 08, 2012|By Christi Parsons

WASHINGTON -- President Obama says he has "zero tolerance" for leaks of classified information and that his administration investigates every such instance.

He stopped short of saying there is a specific investigation underway into the source of recent news stories about U.S. drone strikes against terrorists and cyber-attacks on Iran’s nuclear program.

But Obama said that leaks of classified information about national security matters make life harder for him and put American civilians and military in harm's way, and that his administration tries to make sure that sources of such leaks "suffer consequences" for their actions.

"We don’t play with that," Obama told reporters in a short news conference in the White House briefing room.

In the wake of the stories, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has called for a special prosecutor to investigate leaks, which he says are designed to portray Obama as a strong leader on national security matters.

Democrats have also expressed concern. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, says that the recent spate of leaks could endanger American lives and "undermine America’s national security."

In one recent story in the New York Times, unnamed officials discussed how the president reportedly directed the cyber attacks on the Iranian nuclear program. Other news reports have delved into the administration’s program of secret drone attacks, including Obama’s role in ordering them.

In the briefing room Friday morning, Obama dismissed the suggestions from Capitol Hill that the leaks were authorized, calling them "offensive" and "wrong."

When those reports "surface on the front page of a newspaper," he said, that "makes my job tougher."

Worse, they "touch on critical issues of war and peace," he said, and people involved in the covert operations "may be in danger" as a result of those leaks.

Those are some good finds Swampy.

Thanks.

Also, the time machine will come in handy when it's time to review Hillary's security clearance....

Maybe Comey can give it a thumbs-up, or at least a character reference.

All about security clearances:

It must be determined that the individual’s personal and professional history indicates loyalty to the United States, strength of character, trustworthiness, honesty, reliability, discretion, and sound judgment, as well as freedom from conflicting allegiances and potential for coercion, and a willingness and ability to abide by regulations governing the use, handling, and protection of classified information.

I know Hillary is incompetent on top of everything else she is, and isn't running the type of smooth, intelligent campaign that Donald Trump takes pride in, but damn! She doesn't have anyone to do re-writes for her web page?

Oh, wait...

Hillary’s emails in 4 sentences

Here are the four things you need to know about Hillary Clinton’s email use during her time at the State Department.

1. Hillary takes responsibility for her decision to use a personal account, and the challenges it has created.
2.Her use of a private email account was allowed under State Department rules.
3. Nothing she sent or received was marked classified.
4.She provided all of her work-related emails to the State Department.

I managed to catch most of the Congressional hearing with Comey since I'm tied to my desk today. Dems spent most of their time kissing his ass and bashing Republicans. A few spent little or no time asking him about the case, and one or two used most or all their five minutes to harp on their unrelated pet causes. I'm gonna tap Connolly of Virginia and Clay of Missouri for particular disgrace. Connolly went out of his way to diagnose Donald Trump as a "pathological narcissist" but forgot to mention Hillary's disability as a pathological liar.

Comey handled himself well, and was stuck like Br'er Rabbit with the Tar Baby to the concepts of intent and prosecutorial precedent. I'm not sure he won anyone over to his point of view, but he didn't hurt himself any further than you usually do with tar babies. My impression is that most people will still think he is trying to square a circle.

There are plenty of questions that remain, and plenty of answers I find inadequate and unsatisfactory.

If you can or want to find them, the segments by Hurd, Mulvaney, Buck, Desantis, Lumis, Meadows and Gowdy are outstanding, as are Chaffetz's segments toward the end of the session (excluding his closing statement). .

The take-away here is that to Comey, precedent matters above pursuing prosecution of illegal behavior (I ask, "What difference does it make?"), that intent is required to prosecute a statute that does not require intent to identify a criminal act, and that there are no consequences for illegal behavior.

Oh, and that Hillary is stunningly incompetent, reckless or deceitful...most likely all three.
37.) Swamp Fox - 07/12/2016
I caught a small part of Loretta Lynch testifying before Congress during lunch.

Americans will be interested to know that they're paying six figures for the Justice Department to be led by a lawyer who can't say whether storing or transferring classified material to non-secure locations/devices/people is legal or illegal.

This is exactly the question Jason Chaffetz put to her, and her answer wasn't even as good as "It depends." She babbled about guidelines, two or three times in response to two or three permutations of the question, until Chaffetz finally asked her, "Isn't the law the guideline?" (paraphrasing)

Whenever the video goes up, I'll post it, but look for it on the news tonight. It's stunning.
38.) Swamp Fox - 07/12/2016
In other news, read the transcript of Hllary's speech today when you have some tiime.

I might have missed the part where she scolded troublemakers and their enablers and propagandists, but I did get the idea from this speech and her comments the other day about white people that she wants me to think hard about my life and self-flagellate. Once she hit the gun control note ("weapons of war" ...."we must protect our police"...blah blah blah) it quickly went downhill from there. The best way to summarize the rest of the speech is to say that it's no wonder why the nation's most prominent socialist endorsed her.
