Wow! What part of Minnesota is that?

They're awesome creatures to come across, most especially if you're not really expecting to see them, LOL

Does Minnesota have any kind of native population, or a restoration project?

They are located in the northwest corner of the state.

They basically have 2 herds 1 is natural and they came from Canada. the other is a restoration project. The DNR last year hired out a cull to knock down the population. I think they culled like 100 cows... yep it is as stupid as it sounds!

I actually wrote to the DNR explaining how stupid that was and how they could have sold 200 cow tags and stop it when 100 cows were registered. they acted like that didn't even cross their minds.

Then I'm guessing that it'd be illegal to bait them in with a 6-pack of Molson.

The logical conclusion would be it would be completely legit. But I would guess our tree hugging DNR would find a way to make sure you would never hunt again...
