Some miscellaneous observations:

I hope the refs can learn what a charge looks like, vs. a blocking foul, before SC plays again. They blew two calls in the SC/Baylor game, both blatantly obvious, and both called in Baylor's favor.

What was up with the group hug at the end of that game? The players and staff of both teams stood hanging on each other shoulders in a ragged circle before the handshake march. (Were they trying to make a heart? Was someone in the hospital? Had someone died? Was it a group prayer?) Naturally the announcers were not any help to explain what was going on.

Allie LaForce is very cute on the sideline, but she asks some of the stupidest post-game questions I've ever heard. What was going through your mind when you won? How do you feel? Blah blah blah. Also, when she interviews Frank Martin, it looks like the two of them are snuggling. I think he likes her yelling in his ear. I don't watch many of her interviews (I've had enough!) so I don't know if this is a thing with her, or him, or both, or not.

Most of the games I've seen seem to lack an inside or even sometimes much of a deliberate game. Lots of outside shooting with half-hearted attempts to be in position to rebound.

Proposal for new rule going forward: If you stand around dribbling the ball for the last 30 seconds with no attempt to run a play or even move the ball around the court (and no attempt to play defense, either), you're penalized 15 points. Most games I saw ended with the ball handler sucking his thumb, and the defense picking their shorts out of their cracks.

I missed the exact moment when Sideshow Bob haircuts became popular with basketball players, but it seems deliberate, and this tournament has had some doozies.

Feel free to share your own thoughts and feelings in the box below. :-)

The PA announcer just called Madison Square Garden "the world's most famous arena."

:re:

I believe that would actually be the Roman Coliseum, but who really nos all this stuff anyway?

:wink

Proposed new contract clause: If you mention a player's suspension or legal trouble and don't explain what they're all about, you have to give up airtime to shots of cheerleaders and sideline chicks, and if you are a color commentator you forfeit 1/2 one game's salary in addition.

You have one job...

Yeah, but I've been there and they've really let the place go. And forget about getting a beer or a decent hot dog.

At least they don't jack up the price of the Cokes...About $6 for 12 oz. at either arena, if I'm remembering correctly...LOL
