I'm hunting pesky fwies.

I love being in an area with multiple Amazon distribution centers. I ordered this around noon today and it was dropped off at my door by 6:15pm.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have some little buzzing bastards to blast....

What is the range?
3.) DParker - 09/11/2017
What is the range?
A couple feet. It's going to make for some exciting spot-and-stalk (the wife won't let me set up a blind in the family room).

Inspired by my Joke of the Day early last week, huh?

Six-hour delivery .... That's like drone-invasion disturbing ...
5.) DParker - 09/11/2017
Alright...made my first kill. I thought I missed him with the first shot when he flew off from the top of the TV, but then I tracked him into the kitchen and found him limping around in the sink. Of course I did the ethical thing and immediately administered a coup de gras shot to finish him off.

Now...does anyone know how to B&C score a house fly?
6.) Swamp Fox - 09/11/2017

It's either that, or (# of legs X 5) minus 30.

I can never remember, but then again, I'm no meteorologist...

Pictures of course, with you and weapon. Try not to leave the salt on the fly...

And stick his tongue back in! Gosh!
9.) bluecat - 09/11/2017
Not to jump on DP's most excellent thread, but over the weekend the compost pot got a little full and the fruit flies were out in full force. So I made a trap I'd seen once on youtube. I put a ripe banana in a cup. Put plastic wrap over the cup and pulled it tight. Then poked about 6 holes in the plastic wrap with a toothpick. An hour later, all the fruit flies were in the cup and couldn't get out. Amazingly simple and effective.

OK, but it won't taste nearly as good that way.

Chili hides a multitude of sins...

Easier to do if said Chili is ruined with beans.
Easier to do if said Chili is ruined with beans.
Well yeah...because at that point flies are the least of your chili's problems.
16.) Swamp Fox - 09/11/2017
LOL...

By the way, you need more power... down here we have big southern ohio corn fed flies. I prefer this....little better range and penetration....

I'm all for more power, but that would do a real number on my new TV.

:-)....This is weird. I was just thinking last night of an old song (Traditional American/Bluegrass) called "Rock Salt and Nails" which I haven't heard in a long time. When I was a kid there was an old lady who had a reputation for keeping a shotgun loaded with rock salt for those "You kids get out of my yard!"- type moments. I never got shot at but I'll have to go back and ask one of my buddies if he ever did. He was the one who told me the story back in the day and I don't remember if he told me he actually ever had a run-in.

BTW, the song contains at least one of the best lines ever written, in my humble opinion...LOL

Great song....my grandfather used to talk about getting shot as a kid with rocksalt....probably a legend but sure kept us kids in line.

One shot, one kill.

The damage.

And that's with regular table salt. Imagine the carnage I could inflict using kosher salt. Oy.
22.) crookedeye - 09/24/2017
thats the horror of battle..gruesome..well done soldier...
23.) bluecat - 09/24/2017
We need the story too. Did you have decoys or was it spot and stalk?

Hunting over bait. He started buzzing the kitchen when I was heating up some strudel for the wife and myself. So I retrieved the gun from the family room and blasted him when he perched on the edge of the island counter. I'm thinking it was the open tub of Cool Whip that brought him in.
25.) crookedeye - 09/24/2017
that gun pays itself off within the first week..

True 'dat. It's doing wonders at keeping my blood pressure down. Flies piss me off.
