OK, it's the morning after and you're left with whatever candy you weren't able to pawn off on marauding bands of abbreviated ghosts and goblins...so it's time for that age-old question: "What is the best candy bar?"

My nominee:

2.) bluecat - 11/01/2017

Hell, they're all good. My favorite is Nestle Crunch (The one pound bar). Other notables are Almond Joy, Baby Ruth, PayDay...the list goes on.
3.) DParker - 11/01/2017
Man, you sure know how to take the fun out of a "What I like is better than what you like" internet war.
4.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
Sorry to be so agreeable. I'm married so I've learned that to get along you have to go along.
5.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
If that's okay with you.
6.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
Did you want to have an argument?
Did you want to have an argument?
I'm sorry, but your 5 minutes are up.
8.) Swamp Fox - 11/01/2017
It's been forever since I've had a PayDay bar so I might have to go find one to see if I remember it.

I'm not big on coconuts or almonds in candy, so that's out. I think Baby Ruths are out from what I remember, and Twixt.

Reese's are not high on my list.

Nestle's Crunch seemed better when I was a kid. I like plain Nestle's bars okay, but a good chocolate Easter bunny is the best.

My favorite Halloween candy is candy corn, but it has to be the good stuff like Brach's. I can eat it like ... candy. I once found a big bag of it when I was a kid and gorged on it hiding behind a couch. I ate so much I got sick, but ...

I never thought I'd say this, but I did have candy corn once that was a little nasty. Not sure if it got old on the shelf or what. It was some type of bargain brand, though.

Also not a bar: Sugar Daddy's are possibly my favorite candy of all time.

But in bars and bar candy accessories I like $100,000 Bars (which they've renamed to something like 100 Grand) Snickers, York Peppermint Patties and Three Musketeers. I don't have Three Musketeers too much because the first three are much preferred. When I get a Three Musketeers it's usually because I've gotten a little tired of Snickers. (I eat Snickers fairly often for an energy boost, especially out in the woods.)

And that's all I have to say about that!

That was never 5 minutes just now.

I think you've spent more time reviewing candy than eating it.
11.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
It might be better to talk about the worst candy you've ever eaten as that is a smaller group.

Circus Peanuts anyone? Colored foam...

I lied. I forgot about Chuckles. A BIG favorite, but they're hard to find. Imitations are never as good, and there are some truly bad ones out there. But again, if you stick to Brach's you can't go far wrong.

Also, I forgot about Good N Plenty ... Choo choo!

And is gum a candy? If so, we could be here for a while. I nominate Chiclets and Bazooka for special mention. Also, any gum that comes in a roll or a pouch ...

Candy cigarettes!

Wax vampire teeth!

Wax tubes with the liquid inside!

Twizzlers!

Licorice!

Sweet Tarts!

Somebody stop me!
I think you've spent more time reviewing candy than eating it.
No I haven't.
13.) Swamp Fox - 11/01/2017
There was a red hard candy ball. We called them jawbreakers. You weren't supposed to chew them. I don't know the name of them, but they'd come around every year at Halloween. Kind of a slightly hot sweet and spicy taste.

Different from Red Hots, which I remember as small and more sweet than spicy.

My wife craved those when she was pregnant with my daughter. I made the mistake of trying one, and almost 28 years later I still haven't completely shaken off the sugar buzz. I think they use what I like to call "neutron sugar", which is sugar formed at the heart of collapsed stars and has a million times the density of normal sugar due to its electrons have been stripped off and the nuclei packed together, forming their own gravitational field.

Nestle Chunky Bar, haven't had one in a long time but they are naked large breasted woman good

So I did a quick Google search:

Cinnamon jawbreakers, red hot jawbreakers and variations came up...I can't tell if Red Hot actually makes them, or if "red hot" is just being used as a descriptor. Then there's also Atomic Red Hot Jawbreakers.

Maybe I'm not remembering the difference between the little Red Hots and the big jawbreakers properly. I do remember the name "Atomic" being in there somewhere.

Another one of life's mysteries ...

Okay, I'm giving you +6. That was pretty creative, even if you are named Larry.
21.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
Any orange slice devotees? I can eat that crap by the garbage bag.

I will say this. When positioned appropriately, provide interesting footprints on the sidewalk of the house that had the audacity of putting those in your halloween bag.

I have to give partial credit to my bothers, Daryl and Daryl.

24.) Swamp Fox - 11/01/2017
I know Larry, Darryl and his other brother Darryl, but I don't know their connection to neutron stars.

You could say that reference went right over my head.
25.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
DP normally says, "That is funny, I don't care who you are", which is a quote from Larry the Cable guy." So...
26.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
bluecat - 2 for weak and unfunny reference.
27.) Swamp Fox - 11/01/2017
LOL ...

Well, "I'm not a scientist, either," so I'm not following this stuff too closely ... :wink

28.) DParker - 11/01/2017
Speaking of Halloween...last week I had to have some repairs done to the drain pipe running from my house to the street. When they were done it left this nice 5' mound of dirt where they'd refilled the trench:

But given the season, a quick trip to the local Halloween supply store turned a lemon into lemonade:

29.) bluecat - 11/01/2017
Sa-weet!

LOL!
30.) Swamp Fox - 11/01/2017
Pretty swift. :tu:

I should take some pics of a few haunted houses I've seen in my travels. Maybe next year ...:re :... There's one I've been trying to get some time to get to for several years.
