Would love to know how the deer stayed alive that long being hunted for four years and at least two others shooting at him!

Scratch that ... I'd just like to know how you get the buck to hang around and show himself after all that!

that deer was killed next to my buddy's parents place. he had traveled 8 different properties....the legend is now over .... I've heard numerous rumors of pics but no one ever wanted to show them.. we have big deer here.. 15 minutes from me

I went back to look at DP's link. The poor guy had to remove his Facebook post or-- more likely, I suppose--change his page to private.

I'm sure he's gotten hammered.... there's a little bar there called Dog Prarie and he had a hell of a time getting out of there with that buck.... I'd be worried someone would try to steel it.... which is crap to worry about lol

For really outstanding deer, you hear of guys getting replicas made and locking the real rack in a safe, or donating it to a place like Cabela's. Let *them* pay for the security and the insurance. Not sure how I'd feel knowing I was staring at a replica in my man cave while the real animal is hanging up in a store halfway across the country, but hey.

When I run across someone who's killed a big deer, I don't even say anything about the taxidermist. Not much you can do about people looking up where the guy lives, though. It's the price you pay for accepting the publicity, I suppose. Doesn't make the bother and risk suck any less, though.

He and the buck were getting hammered in a bar together? No wonder he was finally able to take it down.
