Father's Day ribfest at the bluecat compound.

Gave the baby back ribs a rub on Friday night. Wrapped in Saran Wrap until Sunday 8:00.

Was able to keep the smoker under 200 for about 5 hours then bumped it up to 225 for another 2 hours. Then drizzled with a mixture of goodness, wrapped in aluminum foil and put back in the smoker for an additional 2 hours.

Smoked with cherry wood. I was able to get 6 racks in my smoker by creating a shelf.

They were delicious.

Well, I can at least confirm that they sure as hell do look good.
3.) bluecat - 06/17/2019
I put a little cinnamon in the rub and it was really nice flavor.

I've got a pile of St. Louis cut ribs (8 or 9 racks) in the freezer I need to start doing something with. This might be the inspiration I needed.

Henceforth, all of my cooking will be done using these engines from the booster stage of a Saturn V rocket (just installed in my kitchen about an hour ago). The center burner puts out 22,000 BTUs, so I can boil water right-damned-now.

Swampy would be jealous. He could burn a roux instantly instead of waiting.

I wasn't gonna' go there...so I'm glad you did.

Very nice btw.

When I lived in a crappy little apt, I used to put sugar on the burner grates to lure the cockroaches on them. Then I would blast the gas and watch them dance until they didn't.

Kids today don't know how to create entertainment. It's a shame.

Hunting over bait and a virtual video game all in one.

With your burner configuration you could probably lay a cast iron griddle across there and do some pancakes.

Funny you should mention that. It came with one that spans the 2 burners on the left. It's the part my wife was most eager to try out, and I suspect I'm going to be eating pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches for the next 2 weeks.

It also came with an attachment that holds a wok over the center burner...so now I need a wok....and a place to store it.

If you give a mouse a cookie...
13.) DParker - 06/18/2019
...you get a fat mouse?

Did I ever tell the story about how I went from catching one office mascot house mouse to taking care of 13 in under six months? Those little guys loved oatmeal cookies ... and rye bread ...

Somebody get Bullz-i on the horn ...
