...But TX is finally joining the ranks of Constitutional Carry states. The bill has passed both the TX House and Senate and is on its way to Abbott's desk, where he is all but guaranteed to sign it.

How do you feel about permitless conceal carry?
3.) DParker - 05/10/2021
Given the available evidence and the experience of the 20 other states that have it...some of which have had it for at least several years (including Vermont, which has ALWAYS been a constitutional carry - both open and concealed - state) I can't come up with a rational reason to oppose it.

Can't say that I disagree with you. My only wish is that people would take it upon themselves to learn safety measures.

Hasn't Texas been an open carry state?

And, for their own benefit, the applicable laws.

Yep, with a LTC (License To Carry, formerly known as the CHL, Concealed Handgun License) since 2016.

This is the correct answer, plus the fact that requiring a government permit to carry in any way, shape or form if you are otherwise eligible to "bear arms" is hooey, as they say...

I want to hear Grampa Joe profess on the Wild West and Jim Crow on this ... His lunch will be eaten.

It's just mindless, knee-jerk recitation of a script that's as predictable as Old Faithful spouting off. Every time legislation favorable to legal carry is proposed/enacted the anti-2A voices cry out as one, "It'll be the wild west and the streets will run red with blood!" And every time their prognostications fail to pan out. It was the same story in every state with licensed concealed carry, licensed campus carry, licensed open carry, constitutional carry, stand your ground, etc, etc.

All that crying wolf has been a self-defeating strategy for the past 20+ years, and they still haven't figured that out...and with a little luck, they never will.

While Shannon Watts is too much of a drone to think of firing warning shotgun blasts off her balcony, a lot of other control enthusiasts think they know how to do this ...
