Sorry for the radio silence.

I went to Florida for an extended family vacation. It rained every day. :bang:

Was kind of a pain but fish don't mind. It was the lightening that called off several trips for snorkeling and such.

Took a guided fishing trip and there were 6 of us all crammed into a tiny little boat. We caught snapper, lady fish, robins, stingray, slippery dick ( I said slippery), trigger fish and a hardhead catfish. Was fun but no real size. Ate the trigger fish and snapper and was very good.

You killed Nemo!!!!
3.) bluecat - 05/31/2022
He was delicious.
4.) Swamp Fox - 05/31/2022
Triggerfish are possibly my favorite fish to eat.

I remember one time at a fish fry ...
5.) bluecat - 05/31/2022
Do tell...
6.) Swamp Fox - 05/31/2022
You wouldn't believe me if I told you ...

LOL.

But seriously, if you are out here again and can line up someone who can put you on some triggerfish especially (plus snapper, etc.), that is a good time, and great eats ...

Triggerfish, plus ... a GREEN cobia .... LOL:

7.) Swamp Fox - 05/31/2022
The mate did a great job on that one, and can wear any damn earring he wants ... :p
8.) Swamp Fox - 05/31/2022
So, not to break the fishing vibe, but did you go to the Mouse House?

What did the girls look like?

At band camp?
10.) Swamp Fox - 05/31/2022
I prolly shouldn't discuss it ...

Graphite snorkels might be the best thing for coastal tourism ...
12.) bluecat - 06/01/2022
No mouse house.

Graphite snorkels?

I definitely don't know my salt water fish. Trigger fish are like a big bluegill with teeth and an attitude. Thanks for posting.
14.) Swamp Fox - 06/01/2022
I wondered if you'd seen any girl mouses, or if they all just kinda ran together ...

Work a graphite fishing rod with electricity in the air ... That'll wake you up. Do it in an un-carpeted aluminum boat and you can play Stairway To Heaven if you're talented and live long enough ...
15.) Swamp Fox - 06/01/2022
(You can hear the buzz of electricity as you work the rod toward and away from the deck of the boat ...)
16.) Swamp Fox - 06/01/2022
You know, if you'd driven 12 more hours, I could have shown you how to catch a bass .... :wink

I think that's a great description.

They are a ton of fun, especially if you can get to them without tossing your breakfast and supper from the night before ...

Glad you had a good time in Fla. :tu:
18.) DParker - 06/01/2022
BTW...where abouts in FL did you go?
19.) bluecat - 06/01/2022
We were in Destin which is in the gulf. It was a trip for all my siblings families as well. We ended up not killing each other which is nice. :-)

At one location there was a dolphin that kept swiming around and we finally had to move. The guide said that if we'd have caught a fish, that dolphin would have beaten us to it.

The trigger fish that I caught was interesting as I was getting hits from other fish that kept stealing the bait. I could actually feel the triggerfish's teeth when he took it.

I was thinking graphite was not a conductor of electricity.

I took some dramamine and had a pressure wrist band on just in case. We actually stayed pretty close to land so it was no big deal.
We were in Destin which is in the gulf.
Oh, yeah...great area. We've vacationed in Ft. Walton Beach (more specifically, Okaloosa Island), just the other (west) side of the Destin Bridge. I did all of my fishing from the pier there, which is my favorite type of fishing.

Always an impressive accomplishment.
I was thinking graphite was not a conductor of electricity.
In fact it's a very good conductor, both thermal and electrical. You can actually draw a working electrical circuit using a sheet of paper and a pencil.

Took this picture for you guys. A whole store dedicated to jerky. You could get a little baggie for 24.00.

I ended up getting a stick for 2.00 and it wasn't anything I couldn't create.
24.) DParker - 06/02/2022
There was a store like that near the Bass Pro where we used to live, but they went belly-up in less than 2 years. Mostly I suspect it was due to the ridiculous prices, but it also didn't help that they would sometimes just close up in the middle of the day so they could go to lunch...which was really irritating if you'd driven any distance to get there, only to find that they weren't smart enough to pack a lunch so they could stay open for the duration of their posted hours.
25.) bluecat - 06/02/2022
Interesting because this was right next to the Bass Pro in Destin.

And IIRC, the one near us was named "Beef Jerky Outlet" as well.

A quick review through my biology book identifies this as the classic host/parasite relationship.

Was there anything in there about women?

It's all very confusing at this point. Maybe we all should be born with assigned upc codes and just reference those.
