Would-be squirrel-killer injured after taping cartridge to BB gun

A man who tried to shoot a squirrel for dinner by taping a .40-caliber cartridge to a BB gun was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds after the cartridge exploded, Gainesville police reported.

Yeah, those rifle, pistol and shotgun chambers are made of thick steel for a reason. Darwin will get this one eventually. I'm just surprised he's been able to make it 31 years.

Lloyd told police he was trying to shoot a squirrel with a Pumpmaster 760 BB gun. His girlfriend told police that Lloyd told her he was trying to shoot a squirrel for dinner, according to police.

Well there's your problem right there. A Pumpmaster 760? Everyone knows that model is garbage. When the 762's came out, no one looked back at the old antiquated 760's. The technology of the 762 is a superior design with a modified feeding mechanism that eliminates jammed BB's, reduced pumping and with a copper brazing over the thin sheet metal barrel for added corrosion resistance.

Well............. this guy did use tape and was creative. But, all of McGyver's rigs had some level of success!
