...is continuing to pay dividends:

http://www.nssfblog.com/nssf-statement-on-management-of-the-shot-show/
NSSF today announced that it has reached an agreement with Reed Exhibitions to terminate the agreement the parties had for the management of the SHOT Show. Accordingly, effective immediately, Reed Exhibitions will no longer be manager and producer of the SHOT Show.

Reed Exhibitions provided excellent service to NSSF and the customers of the SHOT Show for more than three decades, however, the company’s decision to restrict the sale of certain types of firearms this year at its consumer hunting and fishing show — an event unrelated to NSSF and the SHOT Show — was in conflict with NSSF’s mission to serve the shooting sports industry. As a result, both organizations decided it was in the best interest of the SHOT Show to end their relationship.
Decisions, consequences, etc.

about time. I wonder how many other outdoor shows they manage

Looking forward to next years Eastern Outdoor Show that will be run by the NRA. But they've already announced there will be no firearms sales at the show.

Many of the local vendors are thinking the NRA will be too nationally minded to have an interest in the local vendors. We will see how it plays out, but at least it won't be Reed Exhibitions again.

I don't have an issue with no firearms sales since its not a gun show, as long as the vendors can display their wares and collect leads. they will cater to anyone who will invest in booth space, big or small.

My understanding is that they manage a LOT of shows world-wide...but that almost none of them are outdoor shows. This won't drive them out of business, to be sure. But losing two big shows like this is never good for the bottom line.
