Less than 3 months ago the Houston Chronicle published a piece on Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia's policy for signing off on NFA applications (for suppressors, full-auto guns and other Class-III goodies). From that article:
“And then the sheriff’s office will conduct a safety inspection of the home or other property where that weapon is to be stored to make sure it can be stored safely,” he said.
So Sheriff Garcia wants to make sure you are responsible enough to keep your firearm(s) safe from kids, burglars, etc...peasant. Well, it's a pity that he doesn't practice what he preaches. His own house was burglarized yesterday, and...
According to Garcia, the crook got into his Sue Street home by breaking a back window. Once inside, the burglar stole jewelry and a pistol.
Apparently the Sheriff is too cheap/irresponsible to keep his firearms sufficiently secured from burglary when he's not at home...even though this isn't the first time he's been the target of thieves at that home. Still, Sheriff Garcia says,
"We have a good life here. We’ve been living here for some time. I love the neighborhood and the community”
Say...are those security bars on the inside of all your front windows?

Who would have thought the robber would have looked in the cookie jar.
