For some reason, when I was a kid I was fascinated with falconry. I had books on the subject and dreamed of the day when I'd have my own trained bird of prey. Alas, reality determined that day would never come. So I've allowed myself to live vicariously through this 13 year-old Mongolian girl and her golden eagle, even if only for the time it took to read the article. It's worth checking out for the photography alone.

Great find! We should get PETA on that right away.

We have some falconers around here. I've never come across one in the field, but they show up at banquets.

Apparrently they have some pull, because the game departments have thought enough of them to make exceptions to the Sunday hunting bans for them.

That is one season piece of huntin equipment! Saw several Golden Eagles in ND one fall when out deer hunting.
