Yes you read it right! I will (fingers crossed) finally be closing on my new house and 20 acres next week. This place comes with the 5 llamas that live there. Being the self sufficient carnivore that I am my first thought was can we eat them? After some googling I found a few instances where people would eat and enjoy llama, but there's not all that much info out there other than it's like a real lean beef. I figured atleast one of you guys on here has eating it..... If not feel free to hijack....

Happy Memorial Day!

I've never tried it (though there are plenty of people in the area raising llamas and/or alpacas), but there are multiple companies selling the meat commercially:

It's certainly not cheap. Google "llama" and "recipes" and you'll get plenty of results.

Eat it. Send me some. Enjoy.
5.) Hunter - 05/26/2014
Fry it and cover it with gravy......... how bad can it be?

At ~$25/lb it better by so good that you don't want to fry it OR put gravy on it.
