Do you really like the Vikings?

I wonder if the radicalized Minnesota Muslims Like the Vikings? (I read a story about them earlier today)
11.) Swamp Fox - 08/29/2014
I've been a Vikings fan since I was little kid.

Purple People Eaters, baby!
I've been a Vikings fan since I was little kid.

Purple People Eaters, baby!
Cool. When I was in grade school, I like drawing the Viking emblem. Vikings in general are cool.
13.) Swamp Fox - 08/29/2014
I hope no one catches on to the whole looting and pillaging thing, and slaughtering monks.

It'll make the Redskins nonsense look like patty-cake.

I did some mean Hagar the Horrible drawings on my brown wrapping paper book covers back in the day, LOL...

I bet no one knows how to make those anymore. :p
14.) Floyd - 08/29/2014
Oh man, I was betting on the Patriots being next after the Redskins.

And the Cardinals they did some very wicked things in the Dark Ages.

And the Broncos, they killed or caused a lot of Cowboy deaths. (Sort of like tonight, but different)

I could go on and on. I think the Seahawks are safe. Who cares about the Seahawks, right. Oh wait, exploitation of animals....I almost forgot. :-)
15.) Swamp Fox - 08/29/2014
LOL...
16.) luv2bowhunt - 08/29/2014
Don't forget the 'Steelers'. I think it's wrong to glamorize thieves.

And don't even get me started with 'Packers'.
17.) bluecat - 08/29/2014
The Chiefs in an effort to please everyone on the planet are officially changing their name to the Chefs. The new slogan is "Kansas City Chefs, we're really cooking now!"

Come on out to Kaufman stadium and have a KC Strip in a mango/chardonnay reduction sauce and watch the men kick that oblong leather thingy around. Go team!
18.) Floyd - 08/30/2014
Regular Season starts this Thursday. The Game to watch.

Green Bay at Seattle

After last Thursday......(insert predictions/commentary here)
19.) DParker - 08/30/2014
In the interest of continued marital bliss and general household tranquility I'm predicting Green Bay by at least 16 points, and that any other outcome can only be the result of corrupt officiating.
20.) Floyd - 08/30/2014
In the interest of continued marital bliss and general household tranquility....
What did you do wrong in the past to have to do that? You don't have to answer, just curious. (Humor)

You can let your 12th man fly here. Be free. (psst, (in a whisper) If the Seahawks are loosing, keep it down, Dan don't want to hear about it. Someone (Dave) almost got banned...er, um somewhere.)

Yes sir! Should be a good game.

So fare I have: One person for Seattle and two for the Packers. Actually, can I split your vote? 2 and 2 then.
21.) Swamp Fox - 08/30/2014
I'm kinda torn. On the one hand, Seattle has cool uniforms. On the other, you have to admire tubby Midwesterners with their outrageous accents and stupid cheeseheads...In a twisted kinda way.
22.) DParker - 08/30/2014
What did you do wrong in the past to have to do that?
For starters, I became a Raiders fan at a young age (when they were the winningest team in the NFL). But since they've sucked for the past couple of decades, I no longer have any emotional investment in the game.
23.) Floyd - 08/30/2014
For starters, I became a Raiders fan at a young age (when they were the winningest team in the NFL). But since they've sucked for the past couple of decades, I no longer have any emotional investment in the game.
Oh, I thought we were talking about Seattle vs Green Bay.

I liked the Raiders back then too. The meanest, nastiest, dirtiest, winning-est team in the league back then. (AND WE LIKED IT!!)
24.) DParker - 08/31/2014

44.) Swamp Fox - 09/03/2014
Just read an article about some loons having a fit that the Calgary Stampede (I know: Canadians. So sue me. It's slow around here.) has a new alternative jersey featuring crossed single action pistols (you know, "Wild West") on the shoulders.

The author pointed out that the outraged are not making any stink about other violent implications of the team's branding, completely ignoring the fact that more than 20 people die in cattle-trampling accidents in the U.S. each year, according to the CDC (good thing they're on the case). Canadian statistics were not readily available.

Did you know that the Houston baseball team was the Colt 45's until they changed their name to the Astros in the early '60's? Learned that on the internets.:tu:

45.) bluecat - 09/03/2014
Don't let the good taste fool you.
46.) bluecat - 09/03/2014
It's hard pleasing everyone isn't it. You have to think that if someone spends their time complaining about a mascot or a symbol or a name, their life is pretty good.
47.) Swamp Fox - 09/03/2014
The way I look at it, if complaining about stuff like this is how they spend their time, their lives are pretty miserable. :wink

I'm almost outraged that they're totally outraged.

You guys don't know. Her pool cleaner "Claudio" was late which meant that her personal trainer came and the pool wasn't clean. After that horrific embarrassment she got stuck in traffic for her mani-pedi and massage. A quick bite at the delicatessen where the water wasn't chilled properly and the sushi wasn't up to standards. Shopping was hectic all on account that Obama was in town campaigning and most of the streets were closed for security reasons. So once her driver finally got her to her shopping appointments it was time for hair and make-up. Where does the time go? Getting her Starbucks order wrong was just icing on the cake.

Quit hatin'.

My dear LUV2, it's the 21st Century. You can do it all, and all at once, with instant gratification.
61.) Swamp Fox - 09/04/2014
I'm going with Seattle in a close one.

Baseball would be entering the playoffs right about now and the World Series champs would be decided by Sept. 30 just to make it stop, if I were king. Hockey would be played December through February, and only in states where small lakes freeze over. Football is about perfect, except we need more shots of the cheerleaders and TV has to get rid of the banners at the bottom of the screen that don't let you see their legs. The Olympics have to go, except women's figure skating.

Beer and any type of sausage at the ball park would be the lesser of $3, or 10% of the average combined score in that sport, expressed in dollars and cents and rounded down. Also, the U.S. would stop funding the United Nations, and certain politicians would be run out of the country on a rail.

Can I also setup an account on social media and create an imaginary kingdom of intrigue and excitement, where I'm extremely relative and the center of the entire universe? A place where I can pick and choose who enters my private circle, where I post hilarious and witty comments on the pages of other peoples imaginary kingdoms, and where I can keep everyone who is fascinated and jealous of my extraordinary life, informed of my every move and thought, showing them an upload of the delicious meal I ordered and had someone prepare for me at a fabulous location?

Well of course Luv2. Anything you want.....take the blue pill to continue or the red pill for the painful truth of reality. hmmm, maybe that's vice versa.... it don't matter.

I do agree with you; it is insane.

Anyways...... either way, I will continue to pretend to call you Luv2 or luv2bowhunt and simply appreciate what little favors you offer up in your visits to the Hunting Country Ward Room.

For the easily amused: The second or third generation of my version of this joke-------

The Honest Computer Salesman

A guy walks into a computer store and says to the salesman, "I think I need a computer."

The salesman says, "Okay. What do you want to do with it?"

"Oh, I don't know. Check the weather, get the news, stay in touch with friends..."

"Do you have a TV and a phone?" asks the salesman.

"Of course," says the man. "But I don't have internet on the phone."

"I see," says the salesman. "But you can make calls on it, right?"

"Yeah, I guess so," says the man.

"Okay, I'm just trying to figure out what kind of computer you need. With the TV and the phone you can check the weather, get the news and stay in touch with your friends. Do you do a lot of calculations or research, or do you want to shop on the internet a lot?"

"No, not really. None of that.. I do the family budget every once in a while, but the wife handles the money."

"Is your schedule very complicated?"

"No."

"Do you like porn?"

"Well, I don't know," replies the man, surprised at the question. He scratches his head. "I guess no more and no less than the next guy. Why do you ask?"

"Well," says the salesman, "porn is one of the things a computer does best. How about archery? Are you interested in archery at all? Would you want to talk to people around the country who are into archery?"

"No, definitely not," says the man. "I'm not into porn OR archery."

"Hmmm," replies the salesman, racking his brain.

"I keep a to-do list," offers the man, trying to be helpful. '"Sometimes that gets a little messy."

"Okay," says the salesman. '"That helps. You have a post office near you?"

"Oh, yeah, " says the man. "And the postman comes to my front door every day, too."

"You write many letters?"

"No, not really.. Just maybe when I need to complain about something..."

"Okay, well," says the salesman, "I think I've figured out what you need."

"What's that?" asks the man, eager to find out what all this is going to cost and how many gatorbites it will require.

"Well, let's review, " says the salesman. "You have a TV for news and weather, and you have a phone for your friends. Probably can talk business on it too, right? You don't do a lot of fancy calculations or research, and you don't spend a lot of money shopping. Your schedule is pretty simple. The post office handles your mail and you don't write a lot of notes or letters anyway. You make some lists, but you're not into porn or archery."

"That's all true," says the man, glad he found a salesman who was such a good listener.

"Well, sir," says the salesman, "I know you came in here looking for a computer, but what you really need is a pen and a pad of paper."

Sometimes you have to be more assertive, get their attention. A good play here would have been to grab her by the collar, pull her towards you and say, "Go Vikings". Then release her with a bit of a nudge, giving her a wink as you walk away.

The Seahawks were on their game, to be sure. But when you're playing against a team that is so off theirs that they keep shooting themselves in the foot by not only making bone-headed calls like going for it on 4th and 5 mid-field with 22 minutes of game time left and a deficit of only 10 points, but also executing so poorly that they end up getting quickly sacked on the play...you'd better be able to destroy them.

184.) Swamp Fox - 09/10/2014
So, has anyone done a blow-by-blow either of the video or interpreting the statements of the combatants? All I see on TV and in print is what you would expect, even from people who usually don't drink a lot of Kool Aid. I know Rice's attorney floated the idea that the fiancé was the aggressor initially (not that that is an excuse unless she's venomous like a spitting cobra or has a brick in her purse) but I don't hear anyone even dare to examine that lately. At least not since what's-his-name over at ESPN (?) got crucified for giving his thoughts on DV a month or two ago.

So, just curious what commentary is out there that I might have missed.

Ex-wives of NFL players is what I meant. Not sure both men haven't retired. If I remember the names I could figure it out, LOL.

Obama: I’m a better intelligence briefer than my intelligence briefers

Marc Thiessen | September 13, 2012, 2:22 pm\t

In today’s Washington Post, I quote NSC spokesman Tommy Vietor as explaining why his boss has skipped more than half his daily intelligence meetings since taking office – including every day in the week leading up to the attacks on our diplomatic facilities in Egypt and Libya: Obama, they say, doesn’t need briefers because he is just so much smarter than everyone else. As Vietor put it to me in an email, “Unlike your former boss [President Bush], he has it delivered to his residence in the morning and not briefed to him.”

The White House takes pride in the fact that Obama’s PDB is “not briefed to him” – because, they say, he is “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.” That hubris brings to mind this revealing quote from a September 2008 New York Times profile of Obama:

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

So it should come as no surprise that apparently Barack Obama thinks he’s a better intelligence briefer than his intelligence briefers.

She knows exactly what she's doin."

Name that clip.
217.) DParker - 09/12/2014
The Sandlot

218.) bluecat - 09/12/2014
That works too. I was thinking of "Cool Hand Luke".

219.) DParker - 09/12/2014
Dammit. That was my first choice, but I figured you were trying to throw us a curve ball by citing the lesser known of the two.

By the way, you haven't truly experienced Cool Hand Luke until you've seen it dubbed into French while sitting half tanked in a Canadian hotel room on a business trip.
220.) Floyd - 09/14/2014
Wow, Cowboys won. I wonder what they did wrong to win?

Buffalo won again. They are hot.
221.) Floyd - 09/23/2014
Monday Night Football

Jets vs Bears
222.) PB - 09/23/2014
I don't care about the outcome either way...at least I wouldn't, if not for Rex Ryan...Can't stand the guy.
223.) Floyd - 09/23/2014
You retired PB?
224.) Triton Rich - 09/24/2014
Monday Night Football

Jets vs Bears
Well, I'm happy the Bears won but that sure wasn't pretty. Already weak at safety and they lost three of them in the game. Can't wait to see what bum they'll have to sign off the street now! I thought the O line handled the pressure pretty darn well though so that's encouraging.
225.) Floyd - 09/24/2014
Giants vs Redskins this Thursday.
226.) Floyd - 09/25/2014
Wow, the announcers are saying, "Redskins".

Nice.
227.) PB - 09/28/2014
You retired PB?
tiredandretired--that's my e-addy. :-)

Officially I'm not retired until January, but I sure am enjoying a lot of time off in the mean-time.
228.) PB - 09/28/2014

Shows how much announcers know... :-)
229.) Floyd - 09/30/2014
Monday Night Football

NE beats KC
230.) Swamp Fox - 09/30/2014
Or, maybe not.

Keep your eye on KC.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, New England is over-rated.

And who knew sliding in the end zone on your knees was a penalty?

I believe I'd say something in the next meeting of the Rules Geniuses.
231.) Floyd - 10/02/2014
Thursday Night Football

Vikings vs Packers

You got the Vikings Swampy?

Should be a close game.
232.) Floyd - 10/02/2014
End of the 5th inning Orioles beating the Tigers 3-2
233.) Swamp Fox - 10/02/2014
I never call a game against the Vikings...That's bad juju.

I agree it should be close unless the Pack falls apart more than usual.
234.) Swamp Fox - 10/03/2014
...I agree it should be close unless the Pack falls apart more than usual.
Did I say Pack? I meant Vikes...:re:

Holy cow. They looked like a team I used to play against in grade school. Of course, my team was made up of smart, superior athletes from 10-13 years old...
235.) Swamp Fox - 10/09/2014
Texans vs. Colts....Haven't spent a lot of time watching either team this season, but I'd like to see sentimental favorite Houston pull off the upset.
236.) Swamp Fox - 10/10/2014
Holy Moley! Kareem Jackson braces for unemployment!
237.) Triton Rich - 10/10/2014
Watch for the Bears Falcons contest on Sun to be a battle of who's defense can be more inept and which team can have more plays where you ask yourself "how could somebody possibly be so stupid!":bang:
