Lets see your old hunting pictures.
This one was taken with my son in 1974 on Coulter mesa, Colorado. The next day I shot my first deer with a bow. The bow is a Jennings Arrowstar. UUUH yes, it's a perm.

2.) DParker - 09/13/2015
Awesome pic Billy...especially the face paint. Gives it a real hardcore hunter feel.

1974 and a perm. I can almost smell the Hai Karate.
3.) billy b - 09/13/2015
Jaguar for real men back then.
4.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2015
LOL...I remember Hai Karate...I must have been born too late for Jaguar....

I don't have a lot of hunting pictures period, but let me see if I can dig something up and learn to use a scanner over the next few days...LOL
5.) DParker - 09/13/2015
Powerful stuff.

Here's me from back in my 'Mullet Days'...

...May be we should call this thread, "Old Hunting Picture & Bad Hair Thread." :-)
7.) Wild Bob - 09/14/2015
This one is not so old, but from back in mid 90s...busting some clay pigeons before a dove hunt.

8.) Swamp Fox - 09/14/2015
Did you pull that raccoon out of him? Is that something else with the raccoon (black fur?)...I can't tell on this screen.

HUNTING WITH RICHARD DREYFUSS
10.) crookedeye - 09/14/2015
HUNTING WITH RICHARD DREYFUSS
LOL.....THAT's what was bugging me! Nailed it! :-)
13.) Wild Bob - 09/15/2015
So in those days, I used to run a trapline pretty much all fall and most of the winter season; that morning after bow hunting and getting that spike, I checked my line and had that raccoon.

(No I did not pull it from him...last I checked deer are herbivores. :-) )

Crookedeye: "reading a bow magazine ment something back then.." - I'm with you on that brother; outdoor magazines seemed more...interesting than they do to me these days.

I think it has something to do with the BS in them now. Don't get me wrong, some of the tech topics these days can be very helpful. But the rampant commercialism, the other BS celebrity 'look at me factor' and lack of genuine down to earth/macho, I'm a bad ass fake factor turns me off.

I may be old fashioned, but I've always come from the school of do what you do because you love it and be genuine; if you got to go out there and flaunt being macho...then dude, your trying too hard.

That's my .2 cents, Ok, I'll shut up now.
14.) Wild Bob - 09/16/2015
Here's a couple more pictures... :re:

First one from when I was in high school:

I still don't know what all that black is in the first pic with the coon and the deer. Stump in the background that just blends with the hide?

What's all that in the background of the pic of you with the shotgun deer? What kind of trees? What kind of opening? Very unusual to me.

And as far as magazines go, outdoor writing has gone to hell and outdoor magazines just led the way...

Ok, so you've exposed me Swampy ...I really hail from a strange and foreign world; somewhere out there in far reaches of the Milky Way. :wink

Let us address these one at a time, shall we...

1) "I still don't know what all that black is in the first pic with the coon and the deer." ~ The raccoons in that area of upstate NY tended to grow very dark (almost black) fur.

2) "Stump in the background that just blends with the hide?" ~ You've really made me tax my feeble memory on this one partner...if I remember correctly, that was a pile of bark mulch we had dumped there; hence it was wet, so it appeared very dark. Also I have no idea what camera took the picture, but as I recall in the early 80's I wasn't much of a camera connoisseur.

3) "What's all that in the background of the pic of you with the shotgun deer?" ~ Those are called dead leaves; do you have them on planet earth??? :-) If you'll notice a little farther to the top left of the picture; you'll see a patch of early November snow that was melting, as well as a patch of green grass by a few big rocks.

4) "What kind of trees?" ~ The ever greens hanging down in that picture would be a type of Spruce, the deciduous trees in the the backgrounds of both pictures include: Maple, locus, sumac and ash trees.

5) “What kind of opening?" ~ Please clarify; I am confused...what opening???

6) "Very unusual to me." ~ No comment. :-)

7) "And as far as magazines go, outdoor writing has gone to hell and outdoor magazines just led the way..." ~ Agreed 100%

Christ! Now will someone else post some pictures so Swampy can put them through the 20 questions interrogation??? Please!!! :tap:
17.) luv2bowhunt - 09/16/2015
Holy living crap. Bob, this is exactly why it's not worth posting much on here.

Good grief, can't even post old photos without a complete cross examination.:-)
18.) Swamp Fox - 09/16/2015
You two are a couple of weenies....:wink

I could have said to myself "Oh, here's Wild Bob pulling a raccoon out of a deer's chest cavity, and here's another strange one of him with a deer on some type of leaf-strewn tropical beach with what looks like snow and weirdly skinny summertime weeping willow trees in the background" and just let it go, but I'm a little more curious than that, so sue me...:wink
19.) Wild Bob - 09/16/2015
Weenies are us.

It's all good...I'm just cutting up backatcha... I have my attorney Saul get in touch with ya.

And by the way...it's Richard now.
20.) Swamp Fox - 09/16/2015
Roger that, Richard...

21.) Wild Bob - 09/16/2015
How come you didn't ask Billy what kind of weeds those are behind him in his picture...:cf:

If you want to run with the big dogs, you've got to get off the porch.

"Hall and Oates." - Bluecat

Ohhhhhh! Now, that hurt deep man, I can handle being called something derogatory...but not likened to cheesy 80's bands. That cut drew blood.

Weeds dude...not the trees. You can't see the weeds for the forest.

Have you been drinking today? That would explain a lot.
30.) Swamp Fox - 09/17/2015
Not yet...But I'm getting closer...LOL
31.) billy b - 09/17/2015
I don't know what the weeds were, Colorado, Rifle, Colter Mesa weeds I guess.
32.) Swamp Fox - 09/17/2015
LOL...
