1.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
Quick...Let me know if you want in...

http://www.debatedrinking.com/

Or if you have your own game going on...
2.) DParker - 10/29/2015
I'm playing one I call "Don't watch any political debates because it'll make you want to slit your own wrist". The rules are pretty self-explanatory.
3.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
So far this one is awful...LOL..The moderators might as well just go out for some martinis and let the R's duke it out...

But it might give me something to talk about tomorrow...
4.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
I have to say, though: This might have been the most entertaining debate, mostly because the moderators were so bad it got you combatively engaged with your TV set ("Throwing wads of paper at your screen turns out to be good exercise, the government reports"), and the candidates quickly got fed up with them and began a counter offensive.

I also thought the lead-in to the debate was so boring that I can't see why anyone would watch CNBC in the absence of a future debate, or an invasion from Mars. The talking heads had absolutely nothing valuable or even entertaining to say. Their analysis basically came down to "Each of the candidates hopes to have a good night." LOL

Good thing I had my own analysis going on. :wink
5.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
Here are the final scores for the game linked above. Somebody's falling down on the job not tallying the community words. Strong letter to follow.

The candidates and their drink cues:

Donald Trump — Best, China
Ben Carson — Washington, Cut
Marco Rubio — Future, Middle Class
Jeb Bush — Seniors, Veto
Carly Fiorina — Hillary, Leadership
Ted Cruz — Obamacare, IRS
Mike Huckabee — Clinton, Fair
Chris Christie — Fix, Government
John Kasich — Budget, Ohio
Rand Paul — Freedom, Tax

Community Words — Socialism, Trillion, Reagan (any candidates say one - everybody drinks)
6.) bluecat - 10/29/2015
Was glad to see them snap back at the moderators.
7.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
My favorite was Trump on the not-so-swift Becky Quick:

"I don't know. You people write this stuff."-----:laugh::laugh:

QUICK: You have been very critical of Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook who has wanted to increase these number of H1b —

TRUMP: I was not at all critical of him. In frank, he’s complaining that we’re losing some of the best people … I am all in favor of keeping these talented people here so they can go to work in Silicon Valley.

QUICK: So where did I read this and come up with this you’re —

TRUMP: Probably, I don’t know. You people write this stuff.

8.) bluecat - 10/29/2015
That was pretty good. I like all the candidates for different reasons. Some more than others but it's a win win.

I liked Huckabee's comment about the runaway blimp and comparing that to the government. They all had their moments.

The only problem is this, from the "Immigration" portion of the "Positions" statements on Trump's own web site where he rails against entry-level positions being given to H-1B holders:
"Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities."
While Rubio was grammatically the direct object of that particular criticism, Zuckerberg was clearly a target as well.

I didn't watch all of it, but of what I did see I thought Cruz had the best "screw you" moment vis-a-vis the "moderators".
10.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
The blimp analogy is probably Huckabee's high point in the campaign...At least so far.

He'd be doing better in a smaller field, at least early.
11.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015

BQ mischaracterized who Trump was really being critical of ("You've been very critical of Mark Zuckerberg"), and then was not competent enough to know where she had gotten her impression. She got hosed not only for not being very accurate (or too loose, however you want to see it) but also for giving The Donald some ice to skate on.

Christie vs. Harwood was good too...Maybe even better:

Paraphrasing:

"John, do you want me to answer the question or do you want to? Even in New Jersey, what you're doing is called rude. "

Not a big Christie fan here, but that was classic. LOL
13.) DParker - 10/29/2015
BQ mischaracterized who Trump was really being critical of ("You've been very critical of Mark Zuckerberg")
That's true enough....and she's clearly an idiot. But Trump misrepresented the issue just as much by claiming "I've not been critical at all" of Zuckerberg...as well creatively portraying his general position on the H-1B issue.
14.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
Not gonna argue against that. Just giving Trump credit for getting his shot in. It was well-done. A thing of beauty, even...:-)

What I think of Trump wouldn't make him happy, but as far as the sizzle goes, he's got it going on...
15.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015

16.) bluecat - 10/29/2015
That's pretty funny.
17.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
I haven't seen one for the second R debate, if they did one, but here's the first....LOL

It gets better after a slow start. :-)

18.) DParker - 10/29/2015

(They did one of these for the Dem debates too.)
19.) Swamp Fox - 10/29/2015
I liked the "shot" they took at Trump's support for eminent domain, LOL
20.) Swamp Fox - 11/05/2015
This is the same douchebag, as Ben Carson points out, who seems afraid of Fox News, and whines about the network incessantly ...But he has company, since the entire Democrat debate apparatus runs screaming away from the possibility of a Fox-hosted debate like a bunch of little girls as well.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/02/politics/obama-republicans-cnbc/index.html

Make sure you watch the video on the right of the page...You can literally see the moment when Obama realizes he's about to step in it over his head, but he decides to go ahead anyway...Because he thinks he knows Americans are that phuckin' stupid...
21.) Swamp Fox - 11/05/2015
Four words:

Crimea, Ukraine and Syria

:omg:
22.) Swamp Fox - 11/10/2015
Tonight's debates might be less entertaining, but more substantive.

I plan to catch the undercard at 7, because there's some potential merriment there between Christie, Jindal, Huckabee and Santorum, plus I think Sandra Smith and Trish Regan are oh so hawt. I made a mistake not catching the last JV session, by unconscious error. I might see if Lindsey Graham live-tweets either debate, since he's sitting out both of them. That could be a hoot.

In the main debate, I expect bumbling from Carson, bloviating from Trump, blather from Kasich, and blunders from Bush. Carly cracks a smile and Cruz crusades against the media. Rand ruminates about the Fed, the EX-IM bank, and the Constitution, and Rubio runs the table.

If Cruz and Rubio come off their scripts a little, they'll take a jump in the polls. Carly could command respect.

Key words for the drinking game are slightly changed for this round. I think Rubio could take this one:

Donald Trump — Best, China
Ben Carson — Government, Media
Marco Rubio — Future, Families
Jeb Bush — Jobs, Veto
Carly Fiorina — Hillary, Leader
Ted Cruz — Obamacare, IRS
John Kasich — Budget, Ohio
Rand Paul — Fed, Tax

Community Words — Socialism, Veterans, Reagan (any candidates say one - everybody drinks)

Check the scoreboard tomorrow at http://www.debatedrinking.com/

Rules are also here ^^^^in case you don't know how to do this, LOL.

26.) DParker - 11/10/2015
"Sunk to"? In terms of intelligent, useful content I'd say that any episode Schoolhouse Rock wins against any modern political debate.

Besides...that little ditty is really the only reason that I still know what a "conjunction" is.
27.) Wild Bob - 11/10/2015
Excellent Parker!!! :tu::grin:

What Swampy...I suppose you'd make it more poetic???

I agree, may be if we made all candidates watch some SHR they at least be able to adequately explain a Bill!
Not fast enough...you beat me to it!
Yeah, but yours is in better condition.

And a little trivia to round it all out. Jack Sheldon, the singing voice of the Bill, the lead singer in "Conjunction Junction" and several other SHR episodes:

32.) Deerminator - 11/10/2015
I'd rather watch the primer of Oke Island tonight, new episode.

It's funny you mention poetry, Bob.... ;)

It's Not For Everyone

by Swamp Fox

About debates my friends seem somewhat cynical.

I am trying not to be clinical

When describing the scene.

It's fun's what I mean,

And to school you I'll try not to be too rabbinical.

Sorry for the stretch there, but after you threw down the gauntlet that rhyme came to me almost immediately and has been stuck in my head for 18 hours... I had to let it out, LOL..
