Nice guns and piggies.
3.) Mike - 03/04/2013
You need to start some AR threads :tu:
I've got a line on an AR-10 receiver finally!! I know a guy that knows a guy that knows a machinist that does the lowers for a company. He can't sell direct but I guess he can bump me to the front of the list:p
4.) rum3002576 - 03/04/2013

5.) Mike - 03/04/2013
That's ALOTTA bacon!!
6.) DParker - 03/04/2013
Impossible. I've been repeatedly assured by politicians and activists that you can't hunt with AR-platform rifles and their super-high-capacity military mass destruction magazine clip ammunition doohickies.
7.) American Eagle - 03/04/2013
Big Fish and Makon Bacon, looks great Logan :tu:
8.) LoganCrane - 03/04/2013

I knew someone would try to make this about Rosie O'Donell.

No, that is the "Old Fat and Pissed" thread.

I was referring to my girl friends.

ask Floyd about that...

he might disagree about the hunting with an AR thing...

148 yards, I believe was the official distance :hb:

Well, time to tell the tale Floyd. Especially....what kind of ammo?
Well, time to tell the tale Floyd. Especially....what kind of ammo?
Good question DP. Specially in today's ammo restrictive buying environment. I actually had a hard time finding .223 ammo for deer hunting. I had plenty of 5.56 and .223 for plinking, target and defense. I also had some for varmint hunting. I stood in line several times early in the morning at Academy and finally just before leaving for the hunt, I picked up a box of 64gr Razorback XT by Winchester. Would not have been my first choice. http://www.winchester.com/Products/rifle-ammunition/Advanced/Razorback-XT/Pages/S223WB.aspx

The round did well for the shot I took. Which was as if I shot an arrow; quartering away. Most of the bullet embedded in the opposite shoulder with little fragmenting. Damage was that of what an arrow would have done.

Can't wait to see what it will do on hogs.

Were they expensive? Given the bullet construction and ballistics they sound like a very good choice. In fact according to Winchester they're designed specifically for deer and hog-sized game.

Excellent. You kept your shot within a reasonable range for the weapon you were using and it did the job.

I've got a couple boxes of handloaded TSX rounds my boy and I keep saying the same thing about. But so far the piggies have outsmarted us.

Nice array of firearms.

We have a few small areas of pigs here but it's frick'n impossible to get permission to hunt them.
Lots of privet land. Information is tough to find. I tried for the last 3 years.
How big are the big ones you have?
They look tasty. What's the best eating size?
