1.) Swamp Fox - 07/18/2013
Good luck to all participants!
2.) Forkie McRut - 07/18/2013
I'm in. You running the contest Swampy?
3.) Deerminator - 07/18/2013
Need more info Swampy. Naturaly I'm in.
4.) SoonerBowhunter - 07/18/2013
I'm in too.
5.) Pa bowhunter - 07/18/2013
I'm in, not that we have any deer to shoot in Pa...:wink
6.) DParker - 07/18/2013
Point of clarification, Mr. Chairman. Is this to be the usual archery-only contest, or one more in keeping with the more generalized hunting theme of HC? If the latter, it would seem that a subdivision of the contest by general weapon category is in order.
7.) Ohbuckhunter - 07/19/2013
8.) DParker - 07/19/2013
Past your bed time?
9.) Ohbuckhunter - 07/19/2013
Yes. It's 10:30 here
10.) bluecat - 07/19/2013
Will there be teams or are we each going rogue? I'd like my team to be called 'TeamPatriotLibertyTeaParty912ImNotHappyWithTheGov'. You know, just to see if our posts get delayed.
11.) ARCHERXP - 07/19/2013
Does filming a hunt count? lol I might not be able to hunt because my buddy tells me that I have to be in Wyoming at least 3 months before I can apply for a tag.
12.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Okay, by my count, tallying the firm commitments, we have enough people for five teams of one...

I predicted six teams of one a few weeks ago, I think, so I'm slightly disappointed...
13.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Does filming a hunt count? lol I might not be able to hunt because my buddy tells me that I have to be in Wyoming at least 3 months before I can apply for a tag.
Hey, XP, good to see you. You might want to check the regs because a lot of states go easy on the military (and even college students) as far as residency requirements go. The Carolinas, for example...
14.) ARCHERXP - 07/19/2013
To qualify for any resident game and fish license, permit, preference point, or tag, a person shall be domiciled and shall physically reside in Wyoming for one (1) full year (365 consecutive days) immediately preceding the date the person applies for or purchases the license, permit, preference point, or tag and the person shall not have claimed residency elsewhere for any other purpose (including, but not limited to, voting, payment of income taxes, purchase of resident hunting, fishing, or trapping licenses, etc.) for that one (1) year period.

Any active duty member, the spouse, or minor child of any active duty member of the armed forces of the United States who has been stationed in Wyoming for ninety (90) days also qualifies for resident licenses, so long as the member remains stationed in Wyoming.

15.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Oh, well. SC is sixty days, and NC has a new reg as of July 1 that active-duty military can purchase licenses at resident prices with no requirement re. length or place of domicile.
16.) luv2bowhunt - 07/19/2013
Am I on Alex's team again? That guy sucks the life right out of our souls.

........and he never hunts. So, not a good team member.:wink So I'm defintitely committed to thinking about not being on or at least waffling on my committment to being committed, but maybe, probably but not, no definitely not firm on that, I think. So, yes I'm sure.
17.) Ventilator - 07/19/2013
Im in , but only if i can be on a team with bullzi n floyd.

And i want my own padlock....
18.) billy b - 07/19/2013
You just can't give it up can you, stir stir stir. I'll tell you where the padlock needs to be.......:bang:
19.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
are we going to have a drawing after the drawings to see who gets to be the captains of each team? another question, say if i not happy with the drawings and the team that i'm on, can i like ask for a transfer?
20.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013

But we're gonna have a vote on the captains thing. Well, not really a vote... More of a measuring contest.

Stay tuned for details...

Or if anyone has any suggestions, post them in this thread. My goal is to break the 50 reply mark.
21.) Ventilator - 07/19/2013
You just can't give it up can you, stir stir stir. I'll tell you where the padlock needs to be.......:bang:
I guess you have learned to ignore what your buddy bz posts about me without any reasons usually. DONT be jumping on me about it! I guess u missed him calling me a kiss ass and a dumbass on the other thread. Unprovoked i might add!!! so yeah,....i guess your right!
22.) Ventilator - 07/19/2013
I changed my mind, i want to be on Crookedeyes team. Team Nebraska! Yep, thats the winning team without a doubt! We can challenge Texas to a duel! LOL
23.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
i could probally break the fifty count mark by myself...blindfolded. that crossbow is pretty deadly.finally started shooting my regular bow the other night..this contest is going to be one of my finer moments in life..all the fame after it's all over..
24.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
I changed my mind, i want to be on Crookedeyes team. Team Nebraska! Yep, thats the winning team without a doubt! We can challenge Texas to a duel! LOL
they wouldnt stand a chance..lol
25.) luv2bowhunt - 07/19/2013
Crossbows shouldn't count.
26.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
crossbows are how the ancient romans started archery, kinda like the old gladiator movies..not only should they count, i should be given an extra 5 points and a free hat.
27.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Crossbows would be in a separate category, with shotguns firing punkinballs or buckshot.

And we DO have a special hat for you....

28.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
why would crossbows be in a seperate category?? and who are you to make the rules??
29.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
i think we might have to have a drawing on who's going to run this contest??
30.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
seperate category! swampy youre not a communist are you?
31.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
are you profiling us?
32.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
If we have to go over all that old ground, it'll drive members away...Ain't nobody got time for that...

33.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
swampy is this the first time youve been in charge of somthing??.. reminds me of the time obh was a moderator at bowfanatic.

lol...youre doing a good job i might add...
34.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
the thing i like about the crossbow, when i hunt on public ground for a weekend, i dont have the time to set up a stand..put it up friday take it down sunday.. this olemans tired. i can walk in there play the wind right.. mind you eye to eye with the deer no stand no blind ..just me and the woods..there still going to be 40 yards an in..i'm just not going to have a treestand advantage..
35.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
That would work for turkeys. too.. I hate hunting out of a blind 99% of the time...but I got tired of bad sets/no sets without one on gobblers with a vertical bow. So now if I'm gonna try turkeys with a bow I usually sit in a blind with a vertical bow and have my shotgun handy for run and gun, LOL.
36.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
for some reason i love hunting turkeys out of a blind ..deer i hate it.. i would rather be up agaisnt a tree hunting deer for some reason.. are in a treestand.. for deer theres no sound until there right on you...turkeys 90 percent of the time you can hear them gobble.
37.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
i quess i like to see more when i'm hunting deer.
38.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Damn turkeys around here aren't so cooperative, LOL...I'd rather run and gun even if they were easier from a blind, though. The blind does let you fidget and take a nap, though...Plus I think you could probably get a lot of texting done ....
39.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
the thing i like hunting turkeys from a blind is the morning thermos of coffe and dougnuts..you dont have to worry about them smelling you are nothing. plus the comfortable chair ..
40.) Hunter - 07/19/2013
Someone say "donuts?"
41.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013
Look who shows up when the food arrives...

42.) Hunter - 07/19/2013
I'll hunt for donuts!
43.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013
crispy cream glaze dougnuts are chocalate..Mmmmm..

besides hunter we dont spell it donuts around here, its doughnuts..just because youre in texas now you dont have to become a big shot..:hb:
44.) Swamp Fox - 07/19/2013

Ted, you should post those buck and turkey pics you sent me...Some of us could use a refesher course on what they look like...:-)
45.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013

46.) crookedeye - 07/19/2013

"howdy" = hello
"y'all" =you
"i'm fixin to do somthing" = i intend/am getting ready to do somthing.

58.) crookedeye - 07/20/2013
another slang from texas is...

" busier than a cat covering chit on a rock pile" = i'm busy..

its just a weird way they express there way down there..
59.) Jon - 07/20/2013

83.) Pa bowhunter - 07/21/2013

84.) ARCHERXP - 07/21/2013

85.) crookedeye - 07/21/2013
Anyways, are you really running the contest Swampy?
yep it's true, swampy steped up to the plate..i just hope all this power doesnt go to his head.i think he's doing it for his self esteem.. swampy always wanted to do somthing like this since he's been a little kid.
86.) Swamp Fox - 07/21/2013
LOL...We'll see how it goes...I'm very busy this fall.

OHBH has always done a good job in the past. :wink
87.) crookedeye - 07/21/2013

94.) crookedeye - 07/21/2013
hopefully this guy will make the trip
95.) Ohbuckhunter - 07/21/2013
Swampy is doing a even better job than the last POS that did it.
96.) crookedeye - 07/21/2013
what do you guys like a 16lb ball or a12lb?? A 16LB ball you cant work it as much as a 12 pounder..usually depends on how slick the lanes are.
97.) Deerminator - 07/22/2013
Sounds like you know your balls:co:
98.) luv2bowhunt - 07/22/2013
This thing is already off to a bad start. Crossbows don't count.

CrOokEdEYe is out already. My advice, don't put Swampy or Ohbie in charge of this. Just sayin'.

billy b is the man for the job, honest, unassuming, loyal, dependable. Alot like me except for the personality and actions being opposite.
99.) Ohbuckhunter - 07/22/2013
I like it Luv 11

Good luck to all participants.....

101.) luv2bowhunt - 07/22/2013
I nominate billy b.
102.) luv2bowhunt - 07/22/2013
....or bluecat. I'm pretty sure they're the same person.
103.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013
Floyd would be good.

He has military experience, and has been living for years in a household evenly divided as to men vs. women.
104.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013
On second thought, maybe evenly divided experience is not what we need...
105.) luv2bowhunt - 07/22/2013
Floyd would be good.
......except that he's never here. Other than that.............:-)
106.) bluecat - 07/22/2013
We need someone that can take charge and be in control without all the weeping and crying and stuff, like a man, but yet has big breasts.
107.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013
Can we get some Crispy Cremes out to Crookedeye quickly and ask him to see what he can do?
108.) bluecat - 07/22/2013
Not too floppy though.
109.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013

We'd better get him to take a selfie so we can see what we might be getting into...
110.) bluecat - 07/22/2013
He could say that fat is the new thin.
111.) luv2bowhunt - 07/22/2013
Oh.

We'd better get him to take a selfie so we can see what we might be getting into...
Congrats, Swampy, on more than doubling your goal! :hb:

A man of action, he not only sets goals but exceeds them. This is THE MAN for the job!!!!
LOL...We'll see how it goes...I'm very busy this fall.

115.) luv2bowhunt - 07/23/2013
Continue to have fun everyone.
We've been having fun??????????????????????????????

I didn't get that memo I guess. I nominate Floyd, he seems like a fine upstanding young man, filled with hope and determination.
116.) Swamp Fox - 07/23/2013
For me it's between Floyd and Bob Peck if OHBH doesn't want to do it.

OHBH because he has experience and a lot of kids running around the house who can pull names out of a hat.

Floyd would be good because of everything that's already been said, plus he knows how to use Facebook, which always impresses me.

But Bob Peck might be my first choice because he's been lurking a lot lately, and it might be good for him to get out of the house and into the dirt with the neighborhood kids, so to speak.

I worry about him sometimes, isolated up there in the Shenandoah Valley with all the deer and bears and turkeys and possums, plus all the grand hunting industry poobahs. Sure, he probably has a lot of Confederate reenactor friends, but they just want to stuff him like a sausage into a blue uniform and watch him "charge" up a hill and then roll back down when they shoot him in the face with a six-pound mountain howitzer.

I mean, that's what I'd want.

Yeah, there will be beer afterwards and Bob will be a good guy and invite some of them to hunt with him, and they'll point him in the direction of some local farm ponds that don't have any fish in them, but it won't be the same as spending a lot of valuable cyber facetime on a hunting forum and running a deer contest for his true virtual friends all over the country.
117.) luv2bowhunt - 07/23/2013
but they just want to stuff him like a sausage into a blue uniform and watch him "charge" up a hill and then roll back down when they shoot him in the face with a six-pound mountain howitzer.
I mean, who doesn't want to see that. That never gets old. The old shoot the Yankee in the face trick.
118.) DParker - 07/23/2013
I nominate Floyd, he seems like a fine upstanding young man...
122.) Swamp Fox - 07/23/2013
Macarena...Just sayin'....

123.) luv2bowhunt - 07/23/2013
So is there a contest or not?

......and did I mention crossbows don't count?
124.) bluecat - 07/23/2013
Relax, so much left to do.

We will still need to pick out official sports drinks and razor blades for the contest.
125.) Hunter - 07/23/2013
Why not just a contest where the winner is decided by a poll? You only have to kill a deer and post a pic to be entered. Then people can vote based on whatever qualifications they deem appropriate...... such as being amazed that a particular someone actually killed something or being wowed by someone's photoshopping abilities or maybe someone like Swampy putting as many bikini-clad women in the pic as possible. :-)
126.) Pa bowhunter - 07/23/2013

Not the original, but good non the less..
127.) bluecat - 07/23/2013
I think we have an official song now for the contest: Signs, and band: Tesla.

But after watching that video we might need an official shampoo.
128.) bluecat - 07/23/2013
Or someone could Photoshop Swampy in a bikini and we could call it good.
129.) bluecat - 07/23/2013
Right now Luv2 is wondering if he'll enter that picture of the deer he killed when he was twelve. I see you working.
130.) Swamp Fox - 07/23/2013
So is there a contest or not?

I'm tempted to start a sign-up thread tonight just because it's so dead around here in the evenings....
131.) Swamp Fox - 07/23/2013
It could be the forum equivalent of a Bridge to Nowhere...
132.) luv2bowhunt - 07/23/2013
Well I'm here this evening, so it is way more exciting.

.........ooops I'm leaving now.
133.) Swamp Fox - 07/23/2013
BZ, when do you start hunting?
134.) Parker - 07/23/2013
I'm in.
135.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
Can I participate with the handle of Carlos Danger?
136.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
Oops, Danger is my middle name.
137.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013
138.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013
You know Carlos Danger is gonna be the next big forum handle...so to speak...It might beat "Hunter [Add the month and year of your birth]" over on Archery Talk...so to speak....

It can't be easy to bang out anything on the internet with just one hand, though...so to speak...
139.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
Some people leave the CapsLock on all the time too to help with that.
140.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013

141.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013
I decided not to start a sign-up thread last night...Wasn't sure I could handle the explosion of posts...
142.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
I'm sure it will happen in spurts.
143.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013
It's hard to raise the excitement level around here....

(That's three points right there :wink... Beat that!)

Oooh! Four!

144.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
All this is well and good, but I'm trying to (re)focus on the economy right now.
145.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
The recent statement by Oblama about people needing to refocus on the economy was a real boner.
146.) Swamp Fox - 07/24/2013
You should design a new bow sling in honor of the renewed effort (?):

I think if you called it the OASIS, you could single-handedly boost the economy.

In a

You're welcome. That's all I have time for right now...:wink
147.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
The deer contest like the economy needs stimulation.
148.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
Mr. Danger just admitted that new pics might come up.
149.) bluecat - 07/24/2013
He is a very busy man.
150.) Pa bowhunter - 07/25/2013
He's going to be to busy in the presidential elections to worry about all that mayor stuff..

151.) luv2bowhunt - 07/25/2013
Now that's funny PA. Ha, like it.:tu:
152.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
Saved As!

153.) Hunter - 07/25/2013
LOL!! :hb:
154.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He is a very busy man.
He's got a lot of balls in the air.
155.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
After yesterday, he's down but not out...
156.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He faces some stiff competition.
157.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
All these press conferences are just stroking his massive ego.
158.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
You wonder if he's blown his chances.
159.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He might think about getting Nathan's to sponsor him.
160.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
It's just up in the air really.
161.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He needs to get a hold of himself and consider what is most important.
162.) DParker - 07/25/2013
Though he was up in the polls last week his campaign seems to be just limping along now.
163.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He's got the tools for sure.
164.) DParker - 07/25/2013
His supporters' enthusiasm does seem to be petering out.
165.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
But even high-flyers will find Spirit Airlines' Weiner Special Rates hard to beat...

166.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
They must be thinking he isn't measuring up to expectations.
167.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
When coming in for a landing, it's important to make sure your seat is in an upright position...
168.) bluecat - 07/25/2013

“He had a really strange shoe fetish,” Richie said. “The guy has serious, serious issues. There’s no way this is the only girl.”

Uh oh. Back to my sex bunker.
169.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
You think that's the politics of personal destruction? Just think how repressed some of us Taylor Swift fans feel:

170.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
Carlos needs to erect a campaign that is built on honesty.
171.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
That's the long and short of it.
172.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
I hope his campaign staff won't feel too deflated if he decides he can't keep it up, though.
173.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
You wonder what he'll do after this. You know he can't be a lawyer, because everyone would just laugh at his briefs.

Professional photographer seems like a long shot...

Maybe something in the hard sciences...
174.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
You can't blame the private investigators for bring this scandal to light. They weren't just being a bunch of dicks. They were just doing their job.
175.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
Well, someone had to bring this story to the fore. Skin
back the layers of hubris, self-delusion, deception and hunger for power and really, at the base, you have a lesson for us all: Texting is bad, m'kay?
176.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
177.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
His rise to power could be cut short if he surrounds himself with a bunch of stiffs.
178.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
Strangely enough, no one could ever accuse him of being stilted. I used to watch him on the news when he was in congress and always thought he was a blowhard. But he was very animated, which I guess some people enjoy.
179.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
You wonder what his reaction was when he realized he had been caught. Probably something like "Ah nuts".
180.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
This might be a case of "The bigger they are, the harder they fall", but I don't know.

I haven't been keeping up with the actual pictures...
181.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
He should probably just keep his head low and just hang out for awhile.
182.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
I don't think there's much chance of that. He'll be zipping all over town trying to revive his reputation...
183.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
The one picture I did see (above the waist) he looked emaciated - like a plucked chicken. You wonder if he's been eating only twigs and berries.
184.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
A diet like that would choke a chicken...
185.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
Carlos is probably going to go down for this.
186.) DParker - 07/25/2013
Personally, I was shocked by the whole thing.

Oh, wait....wrong pun thread.
187.) bluecat - 07/25/2013

In a twist of irony, Weiner is gonna be the one to get the shaft.
188.) bluecat - 07/25/2013
News Flash: Weiner Overexposed. Story at 11:00.
189.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
Things went horribly wrong at the DMV when they asked if he was an organ donor...
190.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013
When you look up CARLOS DANGER in the texting dictionary, it says C ORGAN DEALRS....
191.) Swamp Fox - 07/25/2013

It looks like Quinn's on top of Weiner: http://screen.yahoo.com/america-breaking-news-quinn-overtakes-180149115.html
197.) bluecat - 07/26/2013
The police kept a record of all of Weiner's phone transmissions. They labeled it 'crank' calls.
198.) bluecat - 07/26/2013
(Trouser-trout...)
English or European?
199.) Swamp Fox - 07/26/2013
Why does it have to be either/or? Can they not migrate?
200.) bluecat - 07/26/2013
At this point, Weiner is just going off half-cocked.
