1.) Deerminator - 08/07/2013
New show at 10:00
2.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013
I've only seen bits of that show. I'll have to figure out what the million-dollar raft is all about.

Swamp Loggers supposedly was in a portion of Scape Whore Swamp I have permission to hunt two years ago, but I don't have any idea if anything made it to TV. I know they cut down some big-ass trees in a horrendous spot...leaving a horrendous mess. Took near half a day to walk across a few hundred yards of it.

Anybody seen Mountain Men? Worth watching?

I'm looking forward to Sleepy Hollow this fall. Can you beat the 1700's for ghost stories? Well, maybe, but it would be difficult. :-)

You bring back memories for me. In 1984 a big tornado went through our hunting are in northern PA. Made the mistake of trying to walk through the path of the storm. Yes, you can spend half a day going a quarter mile.

Of course my walk was on dry ground, unlike your Whorish Swamp trip.:tu:
4.) Hunter - 08/07/2013
Mountain Men is ok if there is nothing else on. Does that help you any?

You aren't supposed to be watching tv anyways. You should be in training. Doesn't SC season open next week?
5.) Ventilator - 08/07/2013
Swampy trains all year. His skeeter defense system is phenomenal!

And mountain men sucks along with a few other rediculous shows out there.

On a good note, duck dynasty new season starts the 14th! right before deer season.lol
6.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013
LOL...I guess I'll DVR it and see what happens...(blank screen, recorded only the repeats, filled up the machine with garbage I'll never watch, etc. :re: :)

Yes, my trek across the logged area was wet---up-to-my-crotch wet in some spots, which makes you wonder how they got the equipment in there, even during a "dry" period of the year.

I'm training right now for SC's opener on Aug. 15. Today is Day Seven of my campaign to cut down on the carbs, which means I will try once again to avoid the failures of Days 1-6.

And yes, apparently I have something in my blood that skeeters don't like too well...or at least will cause them to go after somebody else first. Though maybe my magic powers are wearing off. I literally got run out of the woods a few weeks ago by the nasty little bastards...

Mountain Men has a guy from NC on it from what I've read. Don't know if that's new this year or what.

I'd like to see if he can trap a wampus cat.
8.) bluecat - 08/07/2013
I'm growing weary of all these outdoor reality shows. They are always one step ahead of complete collapse and death. So I continue to watch to make sure they are okay. :wink

You want to watch a show that shows some guys with balls. Try airplane repo or whatever it is called.

Well, as long as we're not talking literally here, that's how we roll at Camp Swampy...But it is probably more interesting to watch someone put a hole in his boat with a gun he's trying to shoot a gator with than to follow me around with a camera when I find out the guy who feeds the cats while I'm away didn't know to start on Friday, or that I can't get the Blue Cross Blue Shield website to log me in so I can pay my premium that's due that day, when I really, really need to get in the woods before the deer get on their feet...

Although it would have been a pretty exciting episode when Floyd collapsed all the rungs of the ladder stand in the pitch black dark....But we probably couldn't have gotten that on camera anyway...
10.) bluecat - 08/07/2013
Well Swampy maybe between everyone here we can put together a show, kinda like Mountain Man. Each show would be clips of different people in different areas struggling to make it.

From Pennsylvania, it could go from Luv2 complaining about his parking spot at work and then trying to hit a fawn and mother crossing a road later in the day. Then to camp Swampy picking up chicks at Teeters while buying his food for deer camp. Then down to Texas where DParker is schooling someone on how to make Texas chili while on the Ham radio. Then to bluecat who can't decide to shoot that big 12 or that main frame eight while beautiful pack girls wait patiently by the truck. Then a clip of Ventilator slipping on the dock and doing a face plant in a big ol pile of flying asians. Then Deerminator doing his exercises and getting ready for the upcoming season.

I see it all in my mind Swampy.
11.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013
LMAO!

Now yell "Who's with me!?! Aihhhhhhhh....." and run out of the room....

:hb:

It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.
13.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013
Did you have the pneumatic cannons or the repeating blaster?
14.) bluecat - 08/07/2013
Swamper, let me break down the Mountain Man show for you:

Eustace lives in North Carolina. He took out a loan to keep his land. Now if he doesn't make the payments he will lose his land. His chief mode of moneymaking is firewood. He's down to his last nickle. He's eating woodrats and squirrels. Every day he lives may be his last.

Tom lives in Montana. He's old and has a trick knee. If he doesn't kill a deer this year, both he and his wife will starve.

Marty is a trapper in Alaska. He flies in by himself. Traps for most of the year. Then sells his furs to keep his family alive. Even though he never sees his family you have to admire his strength and courage. He's always flying with little to no fuel, zero visibility and low oil pressure. His snowmobiles are always breaking down when he's 10 miles from his cabin. The wolves are forever circling.

It's very uplifting.
15.) bluecat - 08/07/2013

I want to apologize right now if I've offended any native americans.

LOL...You're very brave to highlight your sensitivity here on the forum...

No offense to the metrosexuals out there...

Would you need both hands?
18.) bluecat - 08/07/2013
Let me scout out the possibilities. I wouldn't want to tell you something and then take it right back...
19.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013
Both hands?

Not if you had a producer who would hold the camera for you.

To be fair to her, when you're born with the real name "Sydney Leathers" I think you pretty much have an unavoidable career destiny ahead of you.
28.) bluecat - 08/07/2013
She's a good lookin' squaw.
29.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2013

Probably not for the "studio" (likely two guys with a camera and a mini-van), but she'll get a check. That is, unless she was so shrewd as to forego a paycheck for a % of the profits instead. She does seem every bit as sharp as a bowling ball.
31.) Deerminator - 08/08/2013
you guys:-)

You can always throw in a few farm animals and some kitchen implements for variety.
