When rifle hunting I really like powerline and other easements because of the great opportunities they offer for ambushing deer and hogs crossing them from one part of the woods to the other. But after this I'm having 2nd thoughts about hunting the gas pipelines that are so prevalent here:

Excellent! Popcorn for everyone for the rest of the year!

How did it ignite?

The best guess I've heard so far (me being a layman who doesn't know any better) has to do with natural gas generating a static charge as it flows through pipelines. Supposedly if a break occurs in the line at some point and the gas escapes to just the right density a spark resulting from the static charge can ignite the gas. BOOM! BBQ.

LOL! That was one of the entries in my Larson cartoon-a-day calendar (I don't recall the year...it was a while ago), and the only one that I actually saved and tacked up on my office bulletin board. It struck me as the ultimate example of finding the silver lining.

LOL...I have that coffee mug somewhere...

Now, actually, I'm a little weirded out that I don't know where it is...:rage:

The last I saw it was on the dashboard of Bronco number 2 right next to the adult diapers.
