2.) DParker - 03/05/2013
Walleye and yellow perch. That's a feast fit for a king right there.
3.) Vortex69 - 03/08/2013

9.) Swamp Fox - 03/09/2013
Not boney, huh?

We have some walleyes in the mountain lakes, but I've never fished for them.

I've heard they're tasty.

Vex is an awesome tool ... but you still have to get over the fish .... I have to admit to having a pretty dynamic fishing network at the Plant we share a bit of intel and that makes a big difference on finding a good bite.

Here is my Vex and a couple set lines finding I like this lay out with a third hole for jigging up front .... and a tip up out and about to get my 4 lines in .... I like to punch several other holes as well and will bounce around a bit with the Vex and Jigging rod ...

Love the Fenwick elite tech ice rods have a MED and a Med Lt ... both awesome .... although that bait caster Dead stick is deadly as well it free spools so well the fish have no chance to spit the bait before I cross their eyes.

It as a firm white flakey meat ..... here is one our favorites ....

Walleyes or perch ... with crushed red pepper and soy sauce. ...

So simple and tasty ....

Spray or wipe a baking dish with Olive oil
Place fish in single layer
Pour in Soy sauce over to cover the bottom of the pan - We use Low Sodium Soy ...
sprinkle with crushed Red Pepper
Bake @ 350 for 18 to 20 Minutes

Just Awesome ....

Serve with White Rice or Steamed Veggies ...

You've been passing up a golden opportunity, Swampster. For my money there is no better tasting fresh water fish than walleye.

They are simple to fillet and every thing you see on the cutting board is boneless....

Those back strap fillets are to die for ... !!!

Bet that helps a lot. Just got back into it and haven't hooked up with anyone in the know yet. That, combined with a bunch of marginal ice, has me looking forward to some lake michigan perch fishing when the power plant opens their gate on the 15th. Till then I think I will just stick with shooting arrows.

i had to work up near mt rushmore a few yrs back at the air force base. driving the highway, you could actually hit phesants like a regular bird there was so many flying across the road.

the farmers up there actually raise them and release.. even guys like bullzi could have a chance at gettin one..lol

my boss goes fishing there for walley every year.
17.) Deerminator - 03/10/2013
Awesom catch OC

We never really had enough ice to go. There were some guys out on Oneida but I don't think there was much ice out there. Kinda scary.

Now that I think about it....I'ts been prolly 25-30 years since we have been able to safly drive on Oneida. Weak winters:re:

I'm on the north east side of SD right off 29 .... The Pheasant population is decent here but gets better and hour south west .... My first bird this year was a damn hen that needed to fly into my grill at a 50 roll .... Pissed me off throwing it back into the ditch looking at the hole in my grill ..

When the ice comes off the shore Wader fishing is a riot ..... Good Rod, box of jigs, floating bucket of minnows ..... and your fishing ... awesome fun and them walleyes are so damn good.
19.) crookedeye - 03/10/2013

the thing i didnt like about mt rushmore, was those freakin goats, they wouldnt move when i was walking towards thems..i didnt no if they where going to bite me or what..
20.) crookedeye - 03/10/2013
when i came face to face with one of those goats you could tell he was pissed..and i didnt budge and neither did he. it was like a stand off.. i was like whatever dude..

I'm a good four hours away from any walleyes, I'd say... depending on how fast I drive, of course...Maybe I could make it in 3:45 if I don't drink much coffee and there's a hillbilly girl on the other end...

My fishing trips never work out that way, though...
24.) DParker - 03/11/2013
If there's a woman worth driving four hours for at the end of the road but you're going for the fishing then we might need to have a talk. On the other hand, maybe she's the perfect woman and prefers to go fishing afterward instead of cuddling.

Does she have a boat?
25.) Swamp Fox - 03/11/2013
In my experience, no.

Did you know there's no law that says you have to tell the truth in your on-line profile?

I feel another angry letter coming on...
26.) DParker - 03/11/2013
Given some of the stories I've heard, if the "F" next to "Gender" turns out to be accurate you should chalk it up as a good experience.
