More than 100 elk found were dead on a ranch about 20 miles north of Las Vegas, NM this week.

Sky News 13 flew over the gruesome discovery on the sprawling 75,000-acre Buena Vista Ranch near Mora

Damn... in 1 square mile.

What a shame.
3.) Deerminator - 08/30/2013
From bug bites no less. Very weird.

I don't know why I read the comments sections on internet news stories and youtube, etc. It's kinda like rubbernecking a car crash...You just can't help but gawk at the carnage...

Some of these people need a good slapping around...

:bang:

That's a damned shame.

Not all that weird. Nearly 100 million people were wiped out in the 14th century by Bubonic Plague, which was largely spread by flea bites. (Coincidentally, BP has been known to crop up in NM from time-to-time.)

I reiterate my hypothesis that Idiocracy was not just a stupid movie, but was in fact a documentary brought back from the future by time-traveling film makers.

Info on EHD and blue tongue...

In NY:

In general:

When they say " not all that uncommon " flashing red lights and red flags go off.

Don't believe them at all.

Did they delete most of the comments?...I was just in there and --poof---I don't see most of them them any more.

I know you don't believe me...:wink....Well, somebody has hidden the button from me, then. LOL. It doesn't look like they deleted only the stupidest ones, but alas, a few classics are gone.

My favorites were the girl who immediately blamed fracking. As far as I can tell, there's no fracking in the area, but she's not alone in her paranoia. Must be a nest of them out there.

Then there were a few convinced it's ranchers poisoning the elk. And the group that doesn't believe biting insects can bear disease. (The two or three arguing about the political correctness of the word "retarded" win Honorable Mention.)

Possibly my all-time favorite, though: The guy who gave a geography lesson about where Las Vegas, Nevada is in relation to New Mexico, and called into question the veracity of the whole elk story because "Vegas is NORTH of New Mexico."

Well, Las Vegas, New Mexico isn't, numbnuts....:wink

I read them this morning, some people just want to be a-holes.

Fracking disease-carrying bugs. (Sorry...too much Battlestar Galactica.)

And for most of them...mission accomplished.
