I don't know why all the Halloween stuff is out in September already...Hell, they were selling Oktoberfest and fall seasonal beer around here just before Labor Day...Nothing says "Fall" to me like 92 degrees and 70% humidity...There are pumpkins stacked up outside the Harris Teeter for some reason...

This all seems way too early, but I guess it means we have to get ready. I'm thinking about going as Spiderman again...

Also, here's an adult-themed haunted house you might check out if any of y'all are in Eastern NC in the next few weeks...

Adult-themed haunted house sparks controversy

“Anybody lookin’ for mummies or werewolves need not come to my haunted house,” said Dennis Weaver of Seven Springs. “It’s going to get adult all up in here.”

Weaver says he’s spent the last month acquiring the necessary permits to open a for-profit haunted house on his property located just off of N.C. 55 in Seven Springs. Opponents of the adult-themed haunted house say even though Weaver has done everything legally required to open such an enterprise, that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea..

You and Mr. Dawson had me going until the 4th paragraph:
“How’s it going to look if some folks come in from outta town to scout a location for a new business,” said Ken Curtis, one of many concerned Seven Springs residents. “We’re never gonna to get them Walmart people to build here if they think their young’uns are going to have to walk around a hoochie show just to go trick or treatin’; Target might put up with that mess but Walmart won’t.”
Them dad-gum Target-shoppin' libertines!

On a more positive note...pumpkin pancakes are back at IHOP, so it's officially Fall now, no matter what the temperature is outside.
3.) Go Bucks - 09/23/2013
I was going to go as the human tripod. Sound like someone beat me to it...

Might want to check the costume out, you've um...um...well, you've um... expanded slightly since last year.
6.) bluecat - 09/24/2013
You might consider being the incredible bulk.

Are you saying this costume makes me look fat?

Don't make me ask the French Maid...I don't want to be humiliated...

Well, not that way, anyway...
9.) bluecat - 09/24/2013
How many times did you get slapped last year when you kept saying "My spidey senses are tingling" whenever a girl walked by?
10.) Swamp Fox - 09/24/2013
There are times when I wish I'd taken that ventriloquism class instead of astronomy...

But the silly string never gets old...I think they have some new kinds this year...
11.) bluecat - 09/24/2013
I wonder if there will be a Carlos Danger costume this year.

Do they even make Billary costumes? That's a lot of material and the mask has to be able to talk out both sides.

I know that for any good party you need some cigars and now, some of these:

Really? Really?

Some people just need a good slap...
17.) DParker - 09/26/2013
My Offend-O-Meter must be broken or something. Granted, they didn't think the name through...but the only thing offensive about that costume is that it doesn't even remotely resemble a leopard. Purple and black with nary a spot in sight? Pfffft.

{Crocodile Dundee}
"Naaaaah...that's not a naughty leopard. This a naughty leopard...
Bingo!

:wink

(But there are spots on that leopard??? LOL)

Levin had a sound suggestion when considering how to appropriately dress a little one for Halloween. “People should be thinking about costumes for young children that might encourage play or learning,” she said. “Like costumes that have some meaning in a child’s world, and could maybe encourage them to crawl around and actually pretend to be a cat.”

Professor of early childhood education, no less.

Yeah, because that's educational and they never do that on their own. :re:
