Somewhere, on some version of BC, there was a thread detailing a super-fabulous-most-awesomest-worlds-greatest electric knife sharpener that some of you used. I need the name of that sharpener, and where you were buying it from. Please.

I am DONE with these dull-ass knives I've got around here, and I can't use a stone to save my life.....

[B]I believe it was this one or one very similar. I can't use a stone for nothing either! I have an electric one that uses a revolving stone type grinder but I only use that for badly dulled knives. I use a crock sticks type sharpener for normal sharpening and it works wonderfully.

Yep, that's the one. I remember that thread because I have one. It works great.
4.) bluecat - 11/15/2013
Electric knives shouldn't need to be resharpened that often.

You beat me too it blue:bang:. I have used the one Rich listed above above at Battle Mtn & it works effortless & quick.

I just bought the worksharp sharpener about 3 months ago. All i can say is WOW! For the price and ease of use it is by far the best knife sharpener i have ever used. It will sharpen any knife (including serrated, and gut hooks), any tool you have, or any other object that needs sharpened. My brother has a $500 wet stone/honing wheel sharpener and the worksharp does just as good as his sharpener. I will admit that I can get my knifes a tad sharper using his honing wheel, but for the price you cant beat the worksharp.

Ya might just need better steel for your knife blades. If your knife blades are made from the soft SS 440 and Au8 grades it's easy to roll the edge back and forth and never get a good edge that will stay sharp. They dull real fast also. Nothing like a knife blade from good high carbon steel.

I always take the kitchen sharpening steel to my blades first to see if that does the trick before resorting to removing blade material via an abrasive sharpener. In the cases you mention that's often all that's required to realign the metal and re-true the edge.

Thanks guys, but I don't *think* that's the one? The one I'm remembering was similar to a Chefs Choice (or maybe it WAS a CC?). Seems to me I recall Bullz-I, Swampy, and maybe Dino singing its praises, and there was a great buy on it somewhere ?

Or maybe I'm wrong and the WS was the one? Hell I don't know, I'm just tired of dull-ass knives...

NO XJC: WORKSHARP IS THE ONE. BEST PRICE I HAVE SEEN IS ON AMAZON AND THHEY ARE WELL WORTH IT. THEY ARE ALSO A MULTI TOOL SHARPENER LIK AXES, MAULS, MOWER BLADES AND DAMN NEAR ANYTHING. IT ROTATES OVER TO GET INTO DIFF POSITIONS FOR EASY ACCESS.

I LOVED MINE SO MUCH THAT I BROUGHT ONE TO BATTLE MOUNTAIN FOR THE SCHMUCKS TO FIGHT OVER IN THE WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT XCHANGE.

SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN SOON I HEAR.
12.) Swamp Fox - 11/15/2013
If it was me, it was a Chef's Choice. I think I remember the thread, and I think I piped up about it. The one they're talking about using at BM seems very versatile, but I've never used it.

OHHH, AND IT WILL DO SCISSORS AND KITCHEN SERRATED KNIVES TA BOOT
14.) Ohbuckhunter - 11/15/2013
I shoulda faught harder for it at BM. I'm ordering one now

It's all Jerry's fault. Yeah has to be his fault.

Alright, you all have convinced me to try the WS. It should be here next week.
